Default Australian Floods

For those of you who don't know, the north-eastern state of Queensland, Australia is currently suffering from major floods. 12 people have already been confirmed dead, there are around 60 missing with grave concerns for most of them. The capital city of Brisbane has been evacuated, and thousands upon thousands of homes and businesses have been destroyed. Most of the state has no power (and it's a pretty huge state!) All of these numbers are expected to rise. It's pretty dreadful.

I'm posting because I have a friend in Queensland who lost her home, her car, all of her belongings, and her pets. I know there are a handful of Australians on here so I encourage you to donate!

Donate to the flood relief appeal : Queensland Government

Stay safe, Queenslanders!

Holy ****, the Brisbane river must've become a lake. I have friends there too. Christ, that's hard to imagine.

I'm visiting my brother in Brisbane next week (assuming the airport is not underwater). It will be crazy to see the damage.

Yeah I've been doing work for the RSPCA over the holidays and at the moment I'm in NSW, I might be doing a trip up there in a week or so as well for animal relief, it's going to be crazy seeing all the damage (assuming most of the water has dissipated...)

Mother nature is a crazy biatch!

It's not like I haven't seen images like these in the news before but this was really shocking. Looks pretty devestating.
