Well, if it happens in an instant, then it would still happen at different hours of the day depending on where you are. It could happen in any hour depending on where you are, so a time like 6PM means little unless you know where.

Perhaps if the rapture is well organized, it will follow the sun ray's travel across our globe and we can all get to experience it at the same hour of the day.

can't we just have a rapture that involves a black hole immediately sucking the earth? for sure we don't need time zones for that

I think you're repeatedly missing the point ..

The problem posed was roughly this : If the world is eaten by a black hole, how do you know what time of day it's going to happen on, even if someone in a location you don't know state that the accident will happen at 5 PM?
