you see, every path available to the universe is explored, and free will is the feeling that a path has been chosen, which is true, every path is chosen. you are the chosen one, you are the free one, the one... welcome my son, know that i love you, know that all will happen just as it should. my holy sister, the hour of our divinity is at hand

The free will issue has always confused me. I don't think it is 'free will' as one would initially understand it to be.

I like to think that we are all nothing more than cosmic dust in the wind; bits of exploded stars from the distant past, to become nothing more than particles all but infinitely recycled into new stars of the distant future. We are so comically infinitesimal that our "will" and our "choices" ultimately mean absolutely nothing, so even if you believe that we have control over our own "destiny", your beliefs don't change the universe's vast, implacable indifference towards us.

I always get the feeling that the stars are laughing at me. I think that's what the twinkling is.

of course our will and our choices mean something.
if you feel like you're just a dust, then don't generalize all people.
maybe it's just you. or the way you're dealing with yourself right now.
but in all totality, we do are created with purpose and reason.

And what would that be? What could our actions possibly do to affect the larger universe? What could our actions possibly do to affect an omnipotent being? I mean if we end up killing every single thing on this planet with a nuclear war, even the moon probably wouldn't be affected in the slightest.
