Do Women Get Equal Pay?

Currently among many countries there is a wage gap between women and men. Should this gap be filled? Does a monthly "sickness" or heavy menstruation cause reduced productivity by women taking days off, including for pregnancy and looking after sick children. This topic that comes from this scandal in New Zealand where CEO Alasdair Thompson stated that women take more days off then men for the reasons above, which is bad for productivity which is why they are paid less.

Oh and enjoy the way he treats the female reporter in the last 4-5 minutes if you want a laugh.

But it is a serious question, particular for men, do you agree with this? Or do you support equal work = equal pay.

Equal work, equal pay, of course. I'd be aghast to see anybody disagree.

Scarlett O'Hara 06-24-2011 01:22 AM

Well after seeing a fossil like that I don't think I'd even be suprised.

That Alasdair Thompson was a penis gobbling, arsehat when he was mayor of Thames.........Nothing's changed

Bloozcrooz 06-24-2011 02:38 AM

Ok well i'll spice things up a little bit and say that women ABSOLOUTLEY DO...................deserve equal pay for equal work. Heh even the biggest of dickheads in the world should still be fair. Their hourly rate or yearly salary has nothing to do with the amount of days they miss for personal reasons. If they are qualified to perform and meet the criteria for the job they were hired for, then they deserve the pay anyone else would receive.

BastardofYoung 06-24-2011 02:55 AM

yes.

I do not think I need to say more. Just yes.

EvilChuck 06-24-2011 04:38 AM

Equal work - equal pay, and everyone gets x amount of sick days per year. If anyone goes over that amoount, they won't get paid. Its pretty much the same as the other thread you started, if certain peoople get different benefits with their job, then I'd expect the pay scales to be different to make up for that difference

Janszoon 06-24-2011 04:48 AM

Equal compensation for equal work, absolutely. And people need to understand that that cuts both ways.

Zyrenah 06-24-2011 05:08 AM

If the work is equal, then yes of course the pay should be equal. When you see men and women in the same position, but the men being paid more - it's crazy.

of course equal work should always mean equal pay.
if both Adam and Eve worked very hard, both of them should be paid fairly because of their work output, not because of their sex.
