The die out in a couple of days, was basically said out of hope rather than liklihood, but these things often just fizzle out after the initial energy has gone and go as quickly as they came.

The world is full of major crises these days, one just seems to lumber along after the other. I remember similiar riots in Brixton, Tottenham, Bristol and Bradford in the past and the severity of these was pretty bad at the time. The Tottenham riot was especially brutal, with the incident where a policeman was hacked to death. These were documented but ultimately swept under the carpet and not too much done about them, as most of these people in these areas still have the same gripe today.

Sure more officers from ethnic backgrounds has I think made some positive differences in how certain elements of society view the police, but by and large if and when there is some sort of real economic up-turn, the liklihood of any future riots is largely unlikely to rival those taking place at the moment.

London has CCTV cameras on every single street, it shouldn't be a problem identifying the perpetrators.

The PIAS warehouse got burned down to the ground last night meaning a load of indie record labels have had their stock destroyed.

Countless labels lose stock after PIAS warehouse burnt down – FACT magazine: music and art

Here's a list of the possible labels effected:

Pias Warehouse Burnt Down / Music Forum // Drowned In Sound

This **** had better stop soon.

Dublin and Belfast could be a possibility, there's plenty of copycat ****heads that would be up for some mayhem not to mention already having a history of riots. Dunno about the rest of the country though...

Yeah some morons are trying to encourage rioting in Glasgow too. Doubt it'll happen. Touch wood.

There's talk of plastic bullets and water cannons being used in London tonight if anticipated attacks take place. The police presence will also be 16,000, up from 6,000 last night. Where was all of this yesterday?

I was walking around Croydon today and seeing the effects of it in person for the first time really brings it home. I grew up in Croydon borough and to think this has happened here!!! Especially since Croydon in general is quite an affluent area unlike the other riot hotspots of Tottenham, Hackney and Peckham.

Hopefully a police presence of this size can get the job done, if they can`t what`s the next step........the army?

You know what, let's forget the fact that these scumbags have been terrorising my nan, they've apparently decided to attack my own neighbourhood. This is just fantastic news.
