It's all situational. Feeling ill, tired of being around them, or any number of reasons.

But people have worked through illness before. They've also decided "nah **** it, I'm calling in." You can't have both and say that people don't choose.

Yeah, I was wrong about Anarchy. This is the upsell for Scientology.

Right. But I'm actually curious to know where his distinction is. I mean we can't really go on science born of a time when Phrenology was valid.

Plants and Humans can't have what we're calling Intelligence since the last the same organ.

I think Neo's question still matters. Why a flux in intelligence if we're doing what we're doing anyway? How does crime exist if free will does not?

Lots of different outcomes factor into why humans react the way they do, and no one situation is the same, so it'd be unfair to pin one situation against the other when they have different setups going in.

Maybe a chronic skipper knew that they'd skipped work three days in a row already this month, and couldn't get away with skipping another.

^ It's a reaction based on logical thinking to produce what they believe to be the most desirable outcome.

Doesnt this come down to if humans have a soul or not? I mean if all actions are cell based then consciousness/soul would be whats creating freewill.

Arguably, yes. There are no good and bad people if free will doesn't exist, right? And blame wouldn't exist either.

I'm not arguing that ALL actions are cell based, environmental learning definitely comes into play, you know where we condition our youngin's that guns are bad and to look both ways before crossing the street. Part of our amazing ability to pick up knowledge.

Well Im under the impression thus far into life that good and bad is not inherant in people. They are shaped by the environment around them. Perhaps some are more likely to be one or the other but ultimately environments determine everything about a person.

If free will isnt the case then wouldnt that prove this anyways?

Honestly I dont think anyone ACTUALLY 100% believes their is no free will. If so you wouldnt continue with your life. you would just sit there waiting for life to come to you.

I think most people are smart enough to realize that that's not how lack of free will works ;)

You see what Im getting at though. If makes any decisions in your life almost meaningless. I mean what thought process would you have if you already have picked somehting.

To quote the Matrix when the Oricale speaks to Neo she says "We are here to understand why we made the choice."

Perhaps thats what you mean?

Sure it does. You'd sit there until you needed to eat or **** or bathe or something and you'd get up. And then maybe you'd trip and break a bone in your hand and you'd have to go to the hospital. There'd you'd fall in love with your nurse. You'd propose on the spot and you'd fly home on your magic carpet.

Free will does not exist.
