Lil Reese beats up girl.
It shames me sometimes to be a hip-hop fan when you see morons like this guy bringing the whole genre into dispute.
If you haven't already heard, the aforementioned showed just how 'lil' a person he is by beating a girl to a pulp. Here's the video. I will warn you, it's pretty violent. What are your thoughts, Lil Reese was number 1 trend for most of today because of this. Does being a hip-hop artist come with the added pressure that young artists should act like the cold hearted gangsters many portray in their music. Or is this guy just an absolute c/nt that should be imprisoned. Discuss. |
Well this guy is obviously a psycho asshole, but it doesn't "bring the whole genre into dispute" for me. It's one person who's a bastard, it has nothing to do with music.

 he got that bitch!

The kid has offered haters a thoughtful, cogent response via Twitter.
|
Ugh the filth on Twitter are making jokes about it as though that chick deserved it and that 'hoes better watch out'. I bet they wouldn't be laughing if it were their sister or mother. I hope the media hangs this guy.

Anyway this controversial publicity bs is really another *shock* to spice things up in the media. He should've gone to court, and get his ass hauled in jail.. |
I have a feeling the woman won't testify against him though.
|
Too bad. Atleast i feel they shouldnt drag in the genre into it.
|
Jesus, there aren't many things that penetrate my apathy, but that did. We don't need human beings like that in this world. Seriously, it's about time we started liquidating unnecessary trash like this.

But does that explain why it's funny?

Still I don't think music has anything to do with violence in this case. Artists though are often well... ****ed up. Nevermind the genre. Bertrand Cantat, Michael Jackson, Pete Doherty, now this guy, whoever he is. |
Football doesn't have anything to do with violence. It's only certain "fans" of football that are responsible for any violence. It's the same with musicians. What this one individual does shouldn't have any bearing on the genre music he is involved in.

lulz, looks like he gave her fists full of equality.
Seriously, though, I don't know what's more funny, watching a dumbass find out having a **** doesn't give you a pass to be a ****, or the white knighting going on in this thread. |
I'm curious how old the video is, it could be past the statutes of limitations and thus make Lil Reese immune to criminal prosecution. He could still be sued in civil court, but I'm sure that will hardly phase him. Why this video was leaked two weeks before the election is beyond me, a few news outlets may cover it, but I doubt this will turn into the huge news event that the Chris Brown/ Rhianna beating was.

The real question here is who the f*ck is Lil Reese?

I'm serious. I don't understand why the strong should be handicapped by their strength; it's part of that whole Christian worship of weakness I don't understand.

I've been learning about this in my sociology class, "defining the situation"
While it may seem like horrendous event when viewed outside of that social structure(especially from a news outlet intent on villainizing Reese) to the people in the video and locals of that area, it was probably commonplace. Both Reese and the girl seemed comfortable with using violence, and if the video is the only indicator, the girl did strike first. To me,the post-fight stomping of her body seemed especially cruel, however, to the people in the video it almost went unnoticed, people are still texting on their phone and didn't seem particularly intent on doing anything about it. What I'm trying to reiterate is this is common place in certain neighborhoods, with the locals not viewing it in the same context as us. Is it wrong? Probably.Did rhianna take chris brown back after he beat the **** out of her? Yes |

Everyone has their own set of commandments or rules how they want to be treated. From the video you can tell his was 1. Don't disrespect me with a nasty attitude. 2. Don't touch me. And how does he react when those rules are broken? He starts punching and kicking her - and not just one or two punches but really he gives her a beating - like a lunatic. What he did to her is disproportionate to the slap on the face he received from her. You can take from the video he thinks along the lines "you can't do this to me, but I can do anything I want to you" it shows a double standard for how he wants to be treated and how he treats others. You really can't say "that whole Christian worship of weakness " that is a misunderstanding of Christianity. If a person is strong he should not behave in a selfish manner and use his strength or injure or destroy another person with malicious intent - that has nothing to do with strength/weakness but personal responsibility to act like a decent human being. To quote Stan Lee "With great power there must also come ... great responsibility!" |
"Some of us are trying to have a civilization here."
