Not only was sandy hook a "gun free zone", but CT has SOME of the strictest gun laws in the country.

Gun control relies on the notion that criminals will obey the law. If gun control advocates were capable of logical thinking, you'd all realize that "criminal" sprouts from the word "crime". AKA, people who don't obey the law.

If gun control laws could control guns, then drug control laws would control drugs.

..... Yeeeaaaahhhhhh.....

No one really gets shot in Ireland. You get the odd stabbing every once and a while though. My dad has a shotgun, and knows how to use it, but that is because he is from a farming backround, I also sort of know how to use it, although I doubt I will ever have to. There is definitely something wrong with America right now, and I have heard both arguments in relation to the gun issue, I honestly don't know what would be better. It is going to get much worse before it gets better I'm afraid.

That has nothing to do with what I said in the post you quoted.

Ah yes, because no thoughtless deaths ever happened before firearms were invented. :usehead:

Are you actually going to make arguments in the topic or are you going to use hyperbole to mock other people's arguments? You should become a politician when you graduate high school.

Lol..I'm well past the point of being in high school. I just got out of the Army this June. (yes, I was only in for a pathetic little year)

Im using perfectly reasonable logic for this argument.

I was simply arguing that the opposite of gun accessibility would be just as disastrous to the American public. It was a perfectly reasonable argument. I probably should have explained myself a bit better. :wavey:

Actually, that was an argumentative fallacy. Slippery slope reasoning makes for a poor debate.

Were the facts I argued not correct? I agree the argument I made had less relevance to the post I quoted than it should have, but the statements I made were all factual and logical.

School shootings & civilian-on-civilian massacres are nothing new in this country.

The U.S. will have higher rates of violence. Why? Because the majority of people in this country are descended from immigrants, meaning they've a higher tendency towards risky behavior than the population of the country they left behind. This has rather obvious implications on the prevalence of violence.
