i honestly think that if you did not know Jodie Foster was a lesbian than you need to work on your gay-dar

also she came out years ago this was just the first time she said it on tv in front of a world audience...which i suppose good for her

but like it says above me....if sexuality does not matter and all people should be treated equal...than who gives a fuck?

in all honesty her speech last night was very well done and actually and without pompous intent touched on some real issues these people have to deal with....like privacy and growing up behind a camera.....its a shame that the simple mention of her loving her life partner has over shadowed a great speech from a great actress

Look bob, Jodie Foster never actually came out. She was only assumed to be a lesbian back in 2007 when she mentioned that she was with Cindi whatever her name is. I will say this again, I do not hate gay people.

I already knew she was a lesbian or I assumed so. But this is the first time that she actually acknowledged that she was a lesbian. It is the first time that she said it.

Who the **** am I to judge. Life is hard anyway.

I just don't see the reason for doing it at this time. She could have simply done it in a way that was for her family and close friends just like everyone else. This just proves that the people with more power will get more respect than those who don't.

again the difference here is that this was in front of millions of people

Well I agree with you KI but then again people tend to be happy with you when you come out in front of the big audience.

it doesn't really seem like a "coming out" speech at all. she just said some stuff that was big to her and you kinda just honed in on the gay thing. she said some pretty awesome stuff though, and i'm glad you posted this. not only do i like jodie foster, but i never watch tv or awards shows so i wouldn't have got to see this if you didn't.

I know that. She never said came out back in 2007 but only she just referred to her ex-female lover. She never said that she was a lesbian but she said now she is officially out (meaning she says that she is a lesbian).
