I'd like to think that those protesters that went inside found themselves enlightened by the warm gestures offered to them by their former targets of hate and became non-despicable people. Is that too optimistic? It certainly feels like it is.

Way too optimistic. These guys are too ignorant to change their minds, although I did see some of them smile in the photos as they were being handed tea.
