But that would involve 2 things that are never likely to happen.

1. Me buying it with the intention of reading it at home.
2. Me keeping it in the house once I got it there.

I'm not sure I'm ready for that kind of commitment.

You have to pay extra for the 2-ply edition

This looks like a pathetic attempt by the magazine to generate publicity.

I think normalizing the terrorist, like normalizing serial killers, shows that they could be anyone. If someone sees that and thinks, "Hey, if I kill tons of people I'll become famous!", then they're already fucked up to begin with. Much like the idea that if we legalize drugs, everyone will start doing heroin and meth. This isn't going to make anyone want to be a terrorist unless they already have some kind of want to do so

Having said that, I'm not interested in the story. I don't ever buy magazines, and I won't be buying this one either.

I got one a couple years ago, as a present from my GF. I was all like "Oh gee... thanks.", and chucked it. The rag obviously has revenue issues tho, and this is just an attempt to generate some. In the long run though, it'll backfire on them.

I say burn the lot of them. This is from the website:

Quote:
Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, and our thoughts are always with them and their families. The cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone’s long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day. The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens. –THE EDITORS

I dunno, if TIME Magazine can put a war criminal on their cover and call him person of the year, I don't see what's wrong with Rolling Stone putting a terrorist on theirs.
