Which is funny, because the "outrage" sparked by the legislation challenged in the OP involved - among other things - the outrageous notion that society not be forced to subsidize abortion.

?? what does that have to do with my facetious comment?

Who are you talking to?

Sansa Stark 07-24-2013 07:55 PM

Usually when you quote someone, you're talking to them.

Scarlett O'Hara 07-24-2013 07:58 PM

But he said OP which could mean me. I'll quite happily pass this over to you.

OP can mean either "original poster" or "original post". When read in context of the thing that's being said, it should be relatively easy to figure out what the acronym stands for in the particular scenario.

I'm not really internet slang savvy, you'd figure it out better than me. :)

You know that OP can mean original poster, so if you replace "original poster" with his "OP", you can see how it doesn't make grammatical sense, nor contexual sense, in what he said.

This is actually how I figured out that OP stands for two different things, long ago.
;)

Don't forget it also stands for "orangutan penis", which also makes grammatical sense.

Thanks guys for not calling me dumbass. It made like no sense to me which is why I asked. I have a habit of not understanding what people are saying sometimes because my grammar standards are not at the same level. :)
