As a nation you're beyond help when it comes to guns.

If the USA were to become part of the British Empire again, we could then gradually install some civilisation into your 50 plus states.

What British Empire?

Not true, a lot of Americans, like myself and my friends, hate US gun laws. And I utterly loathe the NRA.

Oh, the one that doesn't exist anymore. I forgot about that one.

Most of the time no the genie can't go back into the bottle, but you have to remember that we by and large in UK find 'gun culture' an anomaly of the civilised world and do struggle to get our heads around how the leading and most powerful country in the world has guns as part of their culture.

Over the years and from varying sources, I've read about the pros and cons of guns in American society and the reasons and mentality behind a lot of it is quite perplexing, which leads me to believe that the country as a whole is too divided and even confused on the matter to reach a general consensus banning guns.

Also I think the problem looking from the outside in, is the federal system that you have there regarding laws, again this is something that doesn't exist here, but would do if the European Union truly had its way.

I like you as a poster mate and have always respected your opinion but you come off as self righteous and blindly ostentatious.

They have different values and beliefs over in the "British Empire". More murders here yes, by a lot actually, but you know what...If someone tries to hurt my family they will be stopped with a gun looking them in the face and my family will remain safe. Good luck with that in "british empire". You can;t even carry a pocketknife, that makes me sick. People are treated like cattle in my opinion of those laws. You trust a government that certainly doesnt trust you.

I dissagree with all your defense and self protection laws over there yet you dont see me acting all high and mighty every time a gun control debate comes up. As long as I am allowed to protect myself and mine I dont care what you do. Perhaps step back and realize other people see the world differently than you do and accept it.

Ahem ........ I find this post somewhat amazing by you. It's fairly obvious that my post was said in sarcy humour and not meant to be taken seriously, I would've thought the reference to the "British Empire" would've given it away:laughing:
