i am pro guns and i base that on 2 main things


1. i should be able to properly defend myself vs someone with a gun
2. i believe citizens should be able to own guns in the event their government becomes oppressive

i think that since we cant go back in time and prevent the bad guys from gettin guns, then we should allow a good guy to be armed if they choose to.


seems like a lot of non us citizens here so we all may come from different viewpoints.

The Brits seems to defend themselves adequately without the need for firearms

I don't think rednecks with hunting rifles would pose much of an obstacle to our government.

on a small scale it probably would but even aside from hunting rifles, there are about 94 guns per 100 ppl in the usa. if a government got so oppressive and tyrannical which i realize is not exactly on the cusp of happening, the way to defend yourself would be through havin weapons

What makes you so sure you can reach a gun, load it and fire it in a straight line either in the dark or under the stresses of finding someone in your house at night or without being seen or heard.

Given the choice between a gun and a cricket or baseball bat, I'll take the bat every time, much easier & much simpler to use..

theres the chance i could miss when firing or not get to it in time sure

would an intruder be more likely to come at me if he saw me with a gun, or with a baseball bat? thats the question i ask myself and my answer would be baseball bat.

what about a guy with a gun? a baseball bat or club wouldnt be very good defense against that. or even a group of guys with crowbars, clubs, bats, etc. i dont think id have a fighting chance bein so outnumbered. a gun helps level the playin field for the good guys is what i believe

Yes because the Brits culture and our culture are exactly alike.

That's fine for them but it won't work for us over here. You might also want to check out the stats for their murder rates with knives.

so i should trust the guy who has no respect for me or my property to not injure me??

or i should just let him raid my home of valuables without confronting him? and if i do confront him cross my fingers he doesn't have a weapon??

The U.S.'s homicide rate is 4x that of the U.K.'s. No doubt partially contributed to by ease of access to firearms

Do I think gun control would eliminate firearm homicides entirely? Of course not. Do lax gun laws do more harm than good? Absolutely.
