It's called a menstrual cycle. For most of us, the only meaning it actually has is "time to feel like shit and contemplate suicide for a week".

I was talking more about the peak of ovulation cycle but I know the child free just shrug it off. I was just bringing it up as a reason why primal instincts to have a child are still relevant. All the increased estrogen that happens biologically during ovulation.

All it's ever done for me is made me a little bloated and sad.

But I've never (even for a moment) thought to myself "gosh, I want a child" or "I only have [x] years left to have a kid!"

I've had a few scares but that's why I always keep lots of pure vitamin C handy. It causes uterine contractions when taken in large amounts, several times a day, and will take care of any unwanted parasites.

I've read about that. I've always been curious to find out where I can find pennyroyal tea as well.

I'm very careful with my body, so I don't think I'll ever have a problem, but there have been times where I was so afraid. That said, I'm thankful for the wealth of knowledge I've built trying to remain sterile.

Dude

Spoiler for TMI for real, vagina talk.:
one time I was convinced I was pregnant, but I was young and lived in a small town and couldn't just go to the market where MY GRANDMOTHER worked and buy a pregnancy test, and in that area at the time it was extremely difficult to get an abortion so I did a bunch of googling at the local library (I basically looked up "holistic abortion") and ended up eating an entire bottle of vitamin C, making a huge batch of really potent parsley tea, and, just to be safe, shoved a ****load of parsley up my vag because apparently it will be like YO PERIOD, IT IS YOUR TIME and sure enough, after being a couple weeks late I started my period within a couple of hours.

I suppose that's also handy if you're going on vacation or something but whatever.

But yes. Knowledge is power.

Sounds way more comfortable than a stretched-out metal coat hangar

Uhhh

I don't think there's anything immoral about wanting have children. Nor should anyone's morality be imposed on other people, as morality itself is relative. Just as uterus bearers should not be shamed for getting abortions, we shouldn't be shamed for wanting to bear children.

djchameleon 11-24-2013 08:49 AM

It's kind of funny how the OP starts out with this thread to combat all the hatred that she gets from other people about her decision to be child-free.

Then some child free nazis join the thread to make people that want children feel like they are being selfish for their decision.

When everyone should be more open to letting people decide what they want to do with their own life whether it be to have children or to live a child free life.
