The type of gun he wanted to get and how long it takes him to get it would be the only two things that might have been different with stricter gun control. He would have still gotten it legally.

^ I suppose it depends on what we mean by "stricter gun control" dj.
I haven`t read a lot about this story, but if the USA had a screening process that prohibited city-dwellers, or young single men, or people with mental health issues from gun ownership, then I imagine he wouldn`t have been able to get a gun legally.

Well that's why I'm telling you the differences. What is being proposed for stricter gun control is only restricting certain guns, longer wait period and having your name registered on a list. That's it.

People that are all pro-guns have this crazy idea that it is something else completely and they cry about their guns being taken away when it's not even that serious.

The more I read about that guy, the sicker I feel. I see that he has been through some stuff, but only a complete sicko will kill innocent victims because he/she feels like it. Added to my list of fears: narcissists with guns.

^ OK, I see your point - and I can also see, as you suggest, that a lot of pro-gunners will be digging in their heels and resisting every step of the way towards stricter control.

TBH, this thread, this case, gives me a depressing sense of deja vu ; how many American-shooting-spree threads have we had on MB over the years, I wonder?

The trivialization is alarming. Women everywhere are terrified that if they turn down a man, they could be killed. And that if they are killed, no one will care because they will feel bad for the murderer that didn't get laid. This is especially terrifying because I have personally been in situations where men have expected me to just give it up because they wanted it and I could have done nothing if they had chosen to react in a violent manner because they were so much stronger than me and I was drinking. This is all terrifying and alarming and now I have to, as a woman, be physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared before I say "no" to a "nice guy."

Keep things in perspective. Men get turned down every day. Men going on killing sprees because they were turned down do not happen every day. Indeed they seem quite rare.

Ugh this entire MRA (men's rights activists) thing needs to be purged with salt and fire. Feminism is a movement for women and is no way against men. "Men's Right Activists" does nothing for the betterment of men and only exists for the detriment of women.

The worst part is that I doubt any of this is going to make it in the news. Kid was on medication went to see therapists so there's his excuse.
we will disagree here. i equate mens rights activists on par with feminists at worst. both are groups of complete narcissisitc blowhards who are selfish self important losers with no education and a lack of basis in reality

also wanna shoutout to the 2nd page of this thread.... major lols were had so thanks guys

I would get offended by what butthead pretends he thinks, but considering it's just a persona, I really just end up pitying him for feeling the need to express his fake views for whatever reason he tells himself is worthwhile.
