True. Making the Gulf Of Mexico saltier one humanitarian and equality issue at a time.

I'd be surprised to see anyone on this forum be unhappy about this news. And if you are, don't ruin it for everyone else.

Frownland 06-26-2015 09:17 AM

I hope they videotape that one pastor's self immolation.

As someone that lives in Indiana...I'm getting to read plenty of this on Facebook. Whiny ignorant nooblords spewing b.s. like "THE CONSTITUON SHOULD BE BURNED" and whatnot.

Great news. Faith in humanity restored for a little while. I almost wish I had Fox news so I could watch the whining.

OMG! I think I do have Fox News... but... video games. I'm sure they'll be banging the drums of homo-hate war for months yet, though, so there's still time.

grindy 06-26-2015 10:23 AM

Nice.

Hope I won't be too aware of all the whining from the homophobes because of this,
that **** is seriously annoying.

Just checked that page. If this was a Supreme Court ruling, then why are people blaming this on Obama?

It's about f*cking time. Honestly, the US is so behind with everything but this is a step forward into the 21st century (15 years later but whatever).

Oh, thought I smelled the tangy whif of sarcasm over my mean spirited desire to watch heads explode on Fox news.

I must have a vicious spirit because this ****s hilarious. Can't wait till Hannity or the O'Reilly factor comes on. Hell I might even tune into Glen Beck on the radio.

To be fair, the US started legalizing it before Canada did.

It was only Massachusetts in 2003, 2 years before it happened here. I'm talking about recognizing it on a federal level, which it was not until this morning.

This is amazing. For the first time in basically forever, I'm actually proud of something my country did. It's a great day to be an American and a reat day to be a human being.

AMERICA! **** YEAH! HERE TO SAVE THE MOTHA-F*CKIN GAYS!

Now Ki can finally marry his boyfriend! I hope he'll consider me for one of his maids of honor.

But why did it take so long to get it recognized on a federal level? Because of all the lobbying from religious groups and right wing politicians? Same-sex marriage here in Ontario was made legal in 2003 with Halpern v Canada AG, which was the first law made out of all the provinces. Two years later, the federal government passed the Civil Marriage Act which allowed same-sex couples to get legally married.

I feel like the US only legalized same-sex marriage just so they could be on the same page as other countries who did this 10 years ago. A 5-4 Supreme Court ruling is hardly a landslide victory like everyone on the Internet is making it out to be.

Frownland 06-26-2015 02:17 PM

Texas and more conservative states have a lot of pull in Congress since they have a large number of representatives. I think that's the main issue. I'm not sure how many times it's been brought to the table over the years though. Plus I don't think people are making it out as a landslide victory, more of a landmark victory.
