OK I feel like I need to re-summarize my contention as the gist on my thread has drifted.

FACT: North Carolina and some other bible-belt states have recently passed laws requiring that a person must use public restrooms that match that of their birth certificate. Under the law, this person would be required to use the ladies room




...and this person would be required to use the men's room




My contention is that 1.the law is utterly unenforceable 2. if these people did comply the law, *that* would have exactly the opposite effect desired. No one would be more comfortable.

If anyone wants to argue for this bill, let's hear it. Let's try not to get sidetracked.
