"The way we are shown" is usually made up of drawings as opposed to actual solar imaging because it's easier to teach that to the layman.

i'm not making anything up. i'm just pointing out that logic would have me believe there should be a tail. the evidence is haley's comet and it's velocity and composition in comparison with that of the sun.
I've already answered this. If there's nothing to evaporate and create a tail from the sun, then the sun shouldn't have a tail. Let me know if you have any actual evidence, because evidence of Halley's comet is only evidence of Halley's comet.

This ice cube melts when I leave it out in a warm room, but this potato chip does not. What gives?

why are some people flat earthers

like.... what do you gain out of trying to prove that?

it's not that we're trying to prove it, really. and i know it comes off that way. but really, it's an existential dilemma of epic proportions, and talking about it in public is basically a cry for help (which doesn't actually work cuz people are mean). i got into this because i thought i knew a lot about things, and when i saw a thumbnail on youtube captioned "100% Proof the Earth is Flat" (or something to that effect... there are literally thousands of flat earth videos now, and i can't remember) i figured i'd watch it, and very patiently go through the motions of breaking down how wrong it was for the uploader's sake. as in, debunk it properly. but when i finished the video i realized there were huge gaps in my understanding about what earth is, and that turned into 8 months of trying really diligently to debunk the flat earth. i failed at that. i even continue to watch videos claiming to debunk it, but they fail too.

You do realize those youtubes were started as an Internet joke?

I think you're suffering from a really bad case of confirmation bias. :(

Your own ignorance and obvious unwillingness to research those gaps don't disprove anything.

you can go "watch the sun, 24 hours a day" on the nasa channel. but aside from that, i'm glad you've just pointed out nasa's "composite image approach" which i call their art department.

what makes a tail in space only happen when something is evaporating?
