i'm surprised i didn't come across that. if you wouldn't mind confirming that somehow, it'd be appreciated.

You're a cartoon.

You also didn't explain to me why a car's exhaust creates a tail but the car itself doesn't.

because the car is solid.

A comet is solid.

The point is: stop expecting clearly different things to have the same behavior.

See as how it was told to me by someone close who graduated MIT, the only "proof" I can offer is that a simple bet between a couple smart guys is WAY more plausible than say... a flat earth. ;)

oh. sorry i missed this part. no. definitely no trips to the sun. you'd think that because we'd landed on the moon using computers less capable than cell phones in the 60's we'd have had that option as children growing up in the 90s, but no dice. we haven't even managed to pull off a video taken from a rocket as it ascends from the ground to an altitude where we can see the whole earth in one shot, despite having landed on the moon in the 60s. figure that one out.

It doesn't help when you're not giving us any evidence and only conjecture to change our paradigm. We're open to it, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

my question was not a yes or no question.

It is if the answer is no. If it was yes, it would need elaboration so you are correct.

they're not really that different. a gaseous body travelling through space should have a tail. there's sh*t coming out of it all the time. what is so different about that compared to a comet?

It sounds like camera science is either not at the development of rocket science yet, or nobody has cared to do what you describe.

What exactly do the powers-that-be have to gain from the masses believing the earth is round, if in fact it is not? I'm not saying that true conspiracies don't exist, but there is usually some kind of motive involved which is worth the effort to perpetuate such an elaborate farce.
