Tbh, my biggest issue with it is the terms that people use to describe their side. Don't make it into a damned misleading euphemism, just say pro or anti-abortion. But that's not really your fault.

I can agree with that. Like when people say they're pro-life. Come on, I doubt that means the other side is pro killing everyone. And the term pro-choice irritates me. Cause I'm pro-choice in so many other ways. Just not abortion. The terms are dumb.

Exactly. Speaking from experience, I've had quite a few friends that told me they've had 1 or 2 abortions because of the reason I stated above regarding rape. They felt comfortable enough telling me, and I was like "alright, that's cool, i'm glad you got it taken care of". Sometimes they'd look at me like "wait, really?" and honestly, who am I to judge. Abortion, granted it's not the greatest thing you can do to yourself, is the same decision one would have to make when it's to take their own life. Suicide or any other form of helps to give up your life. It's an emotional process, and if the person involved has dealt with enough emotional issues, the last thing I would want to do is cause more.

I'm always curious about that because there really isn't much conflict over a man getting a vasectomy, and that falls under the same category to me, as abortion. It's basically not allowing the child to be conceived.

I don't know enough about vasectomy to comment. But just from an uninformed thought, it seems like there is a difference between screwing to conceive, then removing vs a surgery to prevent semen from coming out.

You're not wrong, it's just the way I see it. There's obviously a huge difference, but I only mean that it can take the same amount more or less emotional drain to come to the decision. If you're married, it can involve two parties whether its a vasectomy or an abortion. However, that's not in most cases, but they can both be related to the birth of a child. Obviously, an abortion can be much more of a severe emotional strain. But...we're just talking now. We've both mutually agreed on multiple things.

Vasectomies can also be reversed.

Can they really? I didn't know that. I guess that's where my ignorance shines then. I thought it was a "do it and deal" sort of thing. Interesting.

You might be thinking of female sterilization. While it is technically possible to reverse it, the low effectiveness rate of reconnecting the tubes makes reversal procedures pretty rare.

That's probably it. I always thought both were one in the same. Hey, I learned something today.
