Gross ****ing grape. My gf brought home a 12 pack of grape soda and I wanted to kick her out for bringing that evilness into my apartment. It's trash and will never cross my tastebuds.

I haven't seen Barq's in years. I only see A&W in my neck of the woods and that's fine enough for root beer/cream soda.

SOPA/PIPA doesn't even matter. Go look up what's in the TPP that got passed.

Educate yourself on the TPP. There are a **** load of things wrapped up in there that people don't even realize.

Yes, it's only purpose is to taste good, so getting the best-tasting root beer is the only thing that makes sense. Unlike actual beer.

I don't know. I don't see decent root beer in stores that often, but anytime I can throw off the Barq's/A&W/Mug shackles I jump at the chance.

I guess I never consider those.

Of the trinity in power, Barq's is the best though admit it.

I prefer using wasabi to horseradish.

When I was a kid we had A&W places back east that served root beer on tap. ****ing indescribable and heavenly.

This was long before they went all corporate and started selling mass production crap.

The Batlord 11-09-2016 04:59 PM

*shrug*

I haven't had A&W in forever, but it's at least better than Mug.

DwnWthVwls 11-09-2016 05:00 PM

What is a good rootbeer brand? I'm confused..

The Batlord 11-09-2016 05:01 PM

IBC is a good jumping off point for root beer that doesn't suck ass and is relatively easy to find.

djchameleon 11-09-2016 05:01 PM

So let's talk about the highlights from the other races and some of the props that were passed.

Ilhan Omar Will Be The First Somali-American Legislator

Maine, Arizona, Colorado, and Washington Vote To Raise The Minimum Wage
All four states opted to raise their minimum wages to at least $12 an hour by 2020. Washington aims to increase the minimum wage to $13.50, while Colorado's $12 an hour will be subject to cost of living.

Washington Strengthens Gun Control Measures
Voters just passed a gun control measure that limits persons "showing signs of mental illness, violence, or other behavior from obtaining firearms." Concerned parties file a court order to temporarily ban persons displaying concerning behavior from possessing guns.

On the slightly crappy side of that, in Maine they got rid of needing a background check for guns.

Pramila Jayapal Is The First Indian-American Elected To House of Representatives

Kate Brown Is America's First Openly Elected LGBTQ Governor

Tammy Duckworth's Senate Win

Duckworth, an Army war veteran, won the race to become Illinois' first Thai American senator, the nation's second Asian-American senator, and the first female senator to have served an Army combat role.

Kamala Harris Becomes California's First Female Black Senator

Harris broke a 24-year senator streak to become California's first ever black senator. She is only the second black female politician ever to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

Catherine Cortez Masto Is America's First Ever Latina Senator

California, Massachusetts, Nevada and Maine passed recreational marijuana. A few other states passed it for medical too.

Colorado approved assisted suicide.

That's nice. Hopefully one day California will elect a competent black woman next time around. Some politicians seem to have a vague understanding of what they're pandering but she talks about issues like she saw them on a wordcloud: she knows they're important, but she's not exactly sure why.

I almost didn't vote for senator at all because Loretta Sanchez is just as bad.

True. Ridiculous how minor drug offenders even became such an "issue" for jails.

Trump can't leave it since it was already signed and passed.

It's already a go.

It's only valid when the populace aren't ignorant sheep who couldn't make an intelligent political decision if you put a gun to their kid's head. What we really have is an uncontrolled free fall where we're just lucky if we don't elect Hitler.

^ Democracy works best if an informed electorate votes for a leader who respects citizens' rights and the democratic process itself. FTFY

( Your original remark - which perhaps you are implying, quite falsely, is what I think - is uncannily similar to Trump's own stance about contesting the election if Clinton won.)

I'm not even registered to vote. Don't care.

Chula Vista 11-10-2016 09:28 AM

There were 3 instances during the 1800s where the winner of the election lost the popular vote. 1824 - Adams, 1876 - Hayes, and 1888 - Harrison. There were strong suspicions of voter fraud and corruption in each case.

Only happened twice since. 2000 - Bush, and now 2016 - Trump.

Pretty amazing if you think about it.

I hope those voters show up during the mid term elections but I highly doubt they will.

Since most people don't really show up that much for mid term and only really pay attention during presidential campaigns.
