US Election Day - the MB version

After all the debating in the "Clinton/Trump 4 prez" threads it doesn't seem right that MB misses out on the fun of actually voting. This is especially true for the poor MB members who have been so unfairly disenfranchized from the real election just because they aren't US citizens.

So here is our own dramatic one-day thread; the US election, MB style. The polling station is now open - one person, one vote and may the best candidate win!

P.S:
To add to the realism, the poll is secret - no-one knows who is voting for whom, although we may guess at some members' choice, *ahem* Chula.
If you vote "other" please feel free to explain in a post, but that is at your own discretion.

^ Sorry, only a mod can alter a poll once it has been posted. Also, neither bob nor boob are real-life candidates AFAIK

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 11-08-2016 04:56 PM

Always other

The Batlord 11-08-2016 04:59 PM

I believe different states have different rules on write in candidates, and since MB is not centered in any state (or country for that matter) we should be able to have our own rules. And in the absence of real rules I say that I can write in whomever I wish.

In high school I was one of 3 candidates in a class election. After everyone cast their ballots and the teacher counted them, the other two guys had tied, and the last vote was mine. I cast it for Captain Kangaroo and those 14 year olds were legit pissed.

lol the colours are throwing me off because here in Canada the liberal party is red and the conservative is blue, whereas the democrats and republicans are the opposite.

Trump was 8/1 about 90 minutes ago, is almost at evens now.

Zhanteimi 11-08-2016 07:22 PM

Trump at 129 electoral votes, Clinton at 97 right now. Florida and Ohio still up for grabs.

I see that Hillary has edged ahead, five votes to four, in the MB poll. All we need is for reality to catch up...

Zhanteimi 11-08-2016 09:10 PM

NYT has flipped. They are now saying 84% chance of Trump presidency now that he's taken Ohio and Florida.

The left brought this on themselves.

Tristan_Geoff 11-08-2016 09:23 PM

Guys I'm actually kinda freaking out.

Zhanteimi 11-08-2016 09:24 PM

Why?

Zhanteimi 11-08-2016 09:25 PM

My coworkers were all crying in the teachers' room at lunch just now.

How come? Not disagreeing btw.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 11-08-2016 09:30 PM

The worst part of Trump winning is knowing that the Democrats could have literally any representative next election and they will still win. At least I can bask in the fact that Hillary is losing, before facing the facts that I'm just really not fond of Trump.

Lisnaholic 11-08-2016 09:33 PM

According to the BBC, Clinton is at last ahead with 197 to Trump's 193. Meanwhile, the dollar is plunging because of fears of a Trump win....

Easy.

- PC Culture
- Lying
- Refusing to acknowledge terrorism and extremists
- Trying to control free speech
- Having such a ridiculous hubris that they assumed that even one of the most corrupt politicians of all-time could get in office
- Putting feelings over facts

All of these points are 100% applicable to Republicans, except for the terrorism/extremism one which is applicable to neither party.

It is if you want to have your future children actually know your aging parents.
