Mexican President: We will not pay for Trump's wall - CNNPolitics.com

Do the Trump posse realize that if he enforces tariffs in order to get Mexico to pay for the wall it will only mean higher prices for US consumers?

I was making a joke. Only a leftist stooge like you would call that deflection. But hey, at least you have good taste in prog.

He'd have that wall paid for in a few days if he could put some kind of tax on money going back into Mexico via Western Union + similar services....

...wait, I'm pretty sure we talked about this before.

Please refrain from calling people names. It's a violation of our rules and just makes for a bad environment. That goes for anyone else in this thread who's doing this as well.

Here's a song that's more appropriate to the discussion than Pink Floyd's:-

Compared to Trump, the Mexican president (regularly reviled by his own people) now sounds dignified, rational and morally superior - not characteristics that I would ordinarily associate with Mexican politicians:-

Quote:
Enrique Pena Nieto said he "lamented" the plans for the barrier, adding that "Mexico doesn't believe in walls". Mr Pena Nieto told the nation in a televised address: "I've said time and again; Mexico won't pay for any wall. I regret and condemn the decision of the United States to continue construction of a wall that, for years, has divided us instead of uniting us."
But Mr Pena Nieto said his country offered "its friendship to the American people and its willingness to reach accords with their government".

Depends on where it is. In some rural locations it could be the only place to get a cake for miles. Framing it as an attack on their religious freedoms is some of the most bizarre lines of thinking that I've ever heard.

ya I agree that it isn't an attack, but I just don't agree with forcing a business into doing something. the kind of person who thinks being gay is against God's will is the kind of person that I would actively try not to support.

as far as the only bakery for miles, I doubt that is much of an issue during a wedding. if you're already falling into the idea that weddings need to be an extravagant affair then I doubt the extra travel or delivery fee is going to hurt you too much.

I'm not excusing business' from being abusive or offensive either, obviously there is a fine line between firmly denying service and being a ****. you're probably a dickhead regardless, but I believe it should be within your right to be a dickhead.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

no he doesn't. if something doesn't fit his ideals he immediately jumps to being dismissive and arrogant. pretty funny coming from someone who still thinks communism is a good system.

You genuinely don't see any similarity between not serving homosexuals and not serving another race?

Ja. I can't get behind creating second class citizens because of people's ass-backwards beliefs.

If people don't want to sell cakes to gays they should be allowed just accept your business will probably suffer.

I'd rather buy gay friendly cakes myself.
