This was before he was president, not that you would know it. The man is a walking ego.

Ahaha, Im sorry have you missed the last 8 years of emperor Obama, wanna talk about ego there's a case study for the ages... This prick actually flew to the U .K. to tell our cousins how to vote on Brexit. This is the ******* that flew to Cuba to tell people there is no difference between communism and capitalism, this is the clown that is hold up a few miles away from 1600 Pennsylvania ave which is actually unprecedented ( had to throw in a buzz word) is the height of ego, and arrogance. Reality TV is not reality you know there are cue cards or boxes that tell people how to comport themselves yea? Trump has always had ego for 40 freaking years all my life this man has had what if it was a black man for exsample would be called swag. So ****ing what, people who voted for him voted for his policies not his personality. And honestly in 40 years this man has really had no issues in the public eye....Until he ran for office using his own damn money. And in this failing ****ing republic that's boss...

You seriously sound like my friend's strungout sister. Hope everything's alright.

Nice ideal...but again, doesn't work at scale. Human nature gets in the way. Communism in general only works (if at all) at a community level. Once you hit any real point of scalability, you end up with failed states not all that dissimilar to former Russia or Cuba.

Now, I haven't really been keeping track (seeing as I have my hands full out here more often than not), but I'm pretty sure I've seen quite a few "unproven assumptions" in the last bunch of discussions with you lovely folk. But I'll start keeping score from now on. ;)

You're delusional. He never put forth any policies, just buzz phrases.

Build a wall. (don't hold your breath)
Repeal and replace Obamacare. (that didn't quite work out)
Bring back jobs. (still waiting. Stock market had its 8th straight day of losses yesterday)
Make America great again. (still don't know what this means)
Drain the swamp. (have you seen his cabinet members?)

People voted for him BECAUSE of his personality. They chose the rookie snakeoil salesman over the career politician because, well, I guess career politicians are suppose to be bad. Or something.

I still don't understand why you keep coming here. Did you get chewed up and spit out of an actual political forum or something?

Frownland 03-28-2017 10:27 AM

I don't think it's an either/or scenario and that both were large driving factors, not to mention how his personality and the crowd riding directly influenced what little policy we could pin down.

^ This is true, I believe, and it's also arguable that some post-communist countries have become worse; maybe Russia, definitely Yugoslavia.

^ But Anteater is right too about the problem of scale. The enthusiasm and efficiency for communism seems to diminish the more widely it is applied, and of course there is a big difference in attitude between communism that your group has chosen, and communism that is imposed on you from elsewhere.

Incidently, an under-used example of a long-term, successful communistic project is the Israeli social experiment of the kibutz. These have been running for generations and are a model of uncorrupted communism afaik.

Most Trump supporters keep saying this and when I try to find out what those exact policies are. I get a whole bunch of nothing from them.

The first three are policies? And you can't have a go at him for those last two, that's unreal. I'm sure Hillary had some **** slogan herself, I remember seeing it on the telly and laughing at how cringe worthy it was.

"Drain the swamp" was part of his 100 days plan and he can be shat on for that for sure. Had he noted that the swamp drainage would run into the whitehouse it would have been useful.

Hillary's was "I'm with her". Ja.
