Hey look, a bigger fish

Trump signs bill repealing US internet privacy rules

Thanks, Frown. This is the biggest reason I come to this part despite hating it. To learn ****. And I can't learn from the "adult discussions" of Trump's golfing habits.

BTW I'm all for childishly rubbing Trump's golfing habits in the face of his dumb ass hypocrite supporters but to actually express outrage over it like this is really just people looking for reasons to be mad. Recreational outrage is all the rage these days.

Edit: I don't remember adding an AK Smiley face but I'm keeping it.

It's not about golf. It's not about the amount of money. It's all about his credibility. He campaigned on being different, on being anti-Washington, on being an outsider who was going to shake things up. A good chunk of people who voted for him over Clinton did so because of these reasons - he was going to be the anti-politician.

He just keeps proving time after time that it was complete and utter BS and he's as much an insider as anyone. His inner circle is just of a different ilk than most.

So ya, it's only golf and it isn't going to cause a world war. But relatively speaking, it just helps cement a precedent. Trump pulled off the biggest political magic trick of all time. And he still has a bunch of followers who refuse to take off the blinders and realize they got totally ****ing conned.

Are you mad because he switched his act after the campaign? That's pretty much how these things always go.. he's not cementing a precedent, it's been there a long time, he's just more in your face about it so it feels worse to some. Every election is a fucking magic trick unfortunately. Nothing in that post is any different from any other election except you have a greater distaste for the candidate this time around (and rightfully so). Blind supporters are not new either and presidential credibility is an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

I suppose I posted my initial grumble about Trump's golfing, etc. because it rankled with me as an example of hypocrisy. I'm aware my posts aren't going to solve anything, but media attention can improve politicians' conduct, can't it?

Issues that do matter? Yes, I'm more than happy to move on to those - but on another day if that's ok. It's bedtime where I live.

Of course, it's nice to have some civilized people in here looking to have an actual conversation. I'm not sure if they can improve conduct to be honest, I guess we'll find out because his non-political antics start diminishing with increased media attention. Also, I forgot to mention in response to your previous post, I think it's reasonable if you want to bring up his expenses as they relate to taxpayers, but when you start using it as an attack saying he's a lazy president or whatever, it becomes useless to discuss. I do still think there are more important matters, but I can concede that point to you.

So right DWV. You got me. I'm being serious.

No it's not, because it solves absolutely nothing. That's my entire point. It actually detracts from issues that do matter, I don't understand why this is difficult to understand.

What are the issues that matter to you that aren't being discussed? I keep hearing about issues issues issues in statements like that but it's such bullshit because the person complaining never talks about these "issues" at all either.

Media attention can slightly improve a politician's conduct but Trump isn't a regular politician so I don't think it's going to help. Also the media is doing it all wrong. I saw this video from Vox where they pretty much showed that satire comedians are doing it better and calling BS on stupid things instead of actually entertaining the BS and then debating over it.
