So, I guess Lilja or the husband won't be performing any basic maintenance on that sedan they bought.

I'm sorry that you have shifted from your earlier position of concern for the environment and are now bragging about the joys of conspicuous materialism instead. That's quite a turn around.

I just see no point in recycling to the point of insanity only to see it really making little to no impact. The average consumer choices still rotate around price. It is just how it is. If you want to
keep doing your part for the environment because you think it makes an impact, go ahead. That is your choice.

Of course you do. Or it dies a sad death. And it is not a sedan. Its a coupe.

rostasi 02-03-2019 03:50 PM

In the picture it looks like a sports sedan.

... and why would you perform any kind of maintenance on it?
It's just gonna give out eventually. What's the point?
Everyone's car gives out eventually, so why bother?

^

@ Lilja: "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." I am a careful consumer, not because I imagine my consumption makes a significant quantitative difference, but, among other reasons, because I want to be on the "solution" side of that divide. You keep posting "That's just how it is" as if nothing can be changed, but in fact history is full of evidence that things can and do change. Freedom of worship, votes for women, an end to slavery, that kind of stuff came about by popular demand despite resistance from governments and businesses. Environmental protection may happen in the same way, but Greta Thunberg is more convincing than me:-

What's interesting to me about this clip is not so much the risks to this forest's survival, but the strange life form that I'd never heard about before:

The Japs population is about to implode, so having eight kids balances things out. And it's better that my DNA goes on instead of random Japs, Batty, or OH.

^ Wow! Did you go to the Mormons for advice on family planning by any chance? ;)

^ I'm sure OH and D&G have some perfectly nice DNA, and the way that stuff works they're probably only 0.000001% different from us anyway - especially as all of us share that superior gene that impells us post on music forums. ( Of course in D&G's case he posts about Insane Clown Posse, so maybe some genetic damage there. ;))

Nah he's right my blood needs to end up pooling around me in a bath tub not in some poor kid's reins.
