There have been huge thunderstorms here for the last two evenings, this evening will be the third. There has even been a ****ing tornado somewhere in the east of the country. On Wednesday I rode my bike through the whole thing, at some point I stood in the street and the water came up to my ankles. Luckily I can stay inside tonight

Red Flag Warning Prompts PG&E to Proactively Shut Off Power

Pacific Gas & Electric said it will shut off power Saturday to about 1,600 customers in Northern California and may do the same for thousands more to reduce the risk of wildfires.

The utility announced Friday night that as of Saturday morning it will turn off electricity to customers in Napa, Solano and Yolo counties west of Sacramento.

The utility said it also will monitor conditions in parts of the Sierra foothills Saturday night through Sunday when they will be at peak fire risk. The company said it could decide to cut power to 30,000 customers in Butte, Yuba, Nevada, El Dorado and Placer counties starting at 6 a.m. Saturday. The peak fire risk will last until 10 a.m. Sunday, according to PG&E.

so they won't admit responsibility for their faulty equipment causing fires and as such won't fix their faulty equipment instead they're just cutting power to all the poor areas

It seems like mother****ers cranking up generators and lighting candles would be just as risky. I don’t know anything about PG&E and how negligent they are but the wildfires aren’t going to stop as long as the earth keeps heating up and people keep spreading out into every nook and cranny of California. I like how rich people are even buying their own private fire department service.

it's an open secret that their badly maintained equipment caused the fire that wiped out the neighborhood next to me, but i know what you mean. the "ranch fire" earlier in 2018 was found to have been caused by a spark from a hammer. cal fire is on the radio practically begging people to just stay off the roads and lay low through the weekend.

The cause of the River fire has not yet been announced.

Really wet here. Raining most of the day and probably for the next two weeks.

Wanted to go hiking and take photos of the wildlife and stuff but not in this weather.

The good news is that I don't need to water my plants for a while.

June snow expected in western Wyoming mountains
