Already know it! I've so far only heard a few episodes though. Alexander Lukashenko, Dr. Phil and some others.

If you have any recommendations regarding episodes, I'm all ears :)

"The Deadliest School in History" about the School of the Americas is probably my favorite "make you ****ing angry" kind of episode, "The Nazi Pedophile Cult Leader who Murdered Santa" is good for a LPOTL fan and I hope they cover that dude at some point too, and as a palate cleanser "The Terrible Secret of Sea Monkeys" proves that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.

Nice, thanks a lot! Will check them out :)

It does no such thing.
Yes, all political systems and the bastard hybrids they create are capable of unethical consumption. The problem isn’t as simple as postulating any political system as the solution. The problem is us, the cruelest life form on the planet. Or have you decided you don’t belong to our species and let yourself off the hook?

I tried listening to the podcast in question for a good 30-45 mins and all I heard was some drunk amateur comedian types rambling about how the sea monkey guy was racist and kinda a con man.... Do you just get trashed and listen to other wasted retards pontificate about capitalism in order to feel like you are learning without expending any effort to do so?

The Batlord 07-09-2022 09:45 PM

I like hearing about capitalism and you like hearing about how women are bad. What's your point.

jwb 07-09-2022 10:16 PM

Here's a quick lesson in Australian capitalism for you

I defy anyone to try to listen to that jingle and not have it get stuck in your head....

Well that's the whole point of a jingle, innit?

So they want to bring back mask mandates in Los Angeles county at the end of this month. Enough is enough....people need to deal with it and live with it. Covid fatigue is everywhere.

The Batlord 07-10-2022 12:44 PM

It's a ****ing mask, you whiny bitch.

And it does nothing to stop Covid. The highest infection rates happened during the period that all mask mandates were in place. Examine yourself!

The Batlord 07-10-2022 02:01 PM

Which was why they were in place, you simpleton. Wear a mask don't wear a mask, just shut the **** up about it. Two years and a million dead and I still have to hear from you cretins who've probably never been right about a single thing in your lives? A mask is the only thing between your mouth and my balls.

Jesus ****ing Christ, when will people get it?? Mask mandates were a) in place but many states didn't enforce them, b) there before the vaccine was available and c) supposed NOT TO PROTECT YOU but to protect OTHERS! You got a problem with that? ****ing seriously: our govt have removed any mask mandates but I still wear one because, oh, let's see, why... oh yeah. My sister has MS and I kinda don't want to kill her!

"Covid fatigue": what a ****ing ridiculous phrase. Oh, sorry Covid, it was fun but we're pissed off with you now, could you just please **** off? Hello? Hello???

I'll try to examine this argument instead. Even if the statement regarding high infection rates is true, it doesn't provide evidence for ineffectiveness of mask mandates. You'd expect that high infection rates would lead to stricter regulations being introduced.

It's like arguing that "the highest unemployment rate happened during the period that FDR's New Deal programs were in effect". Even if true, that's not evidence that the New Deal programs did nothing to help with unemployment: the programs were introduced because of high unemployment rates, so it's exactly what you should expect to see. (This is just the first example I could think of, btw—I'm not very well read up on American history.)

In fact, this could actually be spun as an argument for the effectiveness of mask mandates: if they were in place when the infection rate was highest, then the infection rate must have declined or levelled off while they were in place, indicating that they were effective at fighting against infection.

Maybe you can examine my case above and let me know what you think :)

TheBig3 07-10-2022 09:35 PM

Anyone else feel like the Roe v. Wade decision is a Pyrrhic victory? I keep reading about states using traffic cameras to track women going to get an abortion and I'm thinking to myself, this feels like Charlottesville.

These idiots talk to themselves. Convince themselves that people want it, they get out of their bubble and the backlash is immediate. It's not the SCOTUS ruling that's going to freak people out. It's what the States do with it. The GOP talks a good game, but always gets some true-believer in the mix that doesn't understand the game and they blow it up for their party. I read somewhere that the general public didn't like how Merrick Garland was handled but only after Amy Coney Barrett. I think there's going to be a recoiling after Labor Day.

EXAMINE YOURSELF!!!

It's a harmless virus with 99.7% survival rate. Don't believe all the garbage about the number of deaths, it's all inflated. You're not protecting anyone, not yourself or your family. It's all about control. They want to scare you with statistics. Many of the mask boxes, clearly say on them, they will not stop Covid transmission. I've been without masks since they lifted the mandates. Guess what??? No covid here. It's all made up to scare you. Many states didn't enforce the masks because they don't do anything to stop Covid. Covid is nothing more than the common cold and flu. Get over it!

So called Covid fatigue is suicidal idiocy by people who are so lacking in self discipline they deserve to be taken by the virus. Problem is their arrogant spoilt brat stupidity will raise it’s ugly head again when they expect intensive care in a terminal Covid ward.

Have you done the math on .3% of 329.5 million people (I'm just assuming you're American for my own convenience)? Cause it's 988,500 which is just under the official death toll of 1.02 million. Now, the official death rate of COVID with no precautions is higher than that but if we set that aside and just go with 99.7% then you are basically agreeing with the official story, and since the flu generally taps out at 40k a year you are also agreeing that COVID is far more dangerous than a cold or flu.

Feel dumb yet?

Well that explains it. You're a Covid skeptic. In that case, I shall bid you farewell as you have no brain and I don't bother talking to people without a brain.

Oh, and I would say don't shout, it's rude, but then, that's all people like you know how to do isn't it? Shout, shout and shout again, fingers in your ears, shaking your head till the virus magically goes away.

rubber soul 07-11-2022 06:05 AM

I warned you, Concept :D

Anyway, as far as the mask deal goes. It's kind of like getting a penicillin shot when you have the flu. You still get worse for a day or two but then the shot takes effect and you recover faster. It's kind of the same way with the masking, or least with those who did it.

SGR 07-11-2022 08:11 AM

"Gee, there's a bug, there's a flu, there's a virus, they didn't know what it was...and I said 'UH-OH, UH-OH, that doesn't sound good!'"

Wait am I missing something? Why would an anti-bacterial medicine help a virus?

rubber soul 07-11-2022 09:53 AM

I don't know. All I know was that I was really sick with something when I was twelve and they gave me a penicillin shot. It probably is why I got sicker, stupid doctor!

Trollheart 07-11-2022 10:32 AM

Obviously this gives you the clap.
Penicillin = Penis illin'

WAKE UP PEOPLE! IT'S RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU!

am I misreading you here or does this not assume all Americans got Covid? Cause Google says the number of cases in this country is 88.4 million and the number of deaths is 1.04 million.... Which is obviously higher than .3%.

Yeah, I guess. I didn't realize how covid paranoid some members are or how gullible they are. I dont deny Covid exists. I deny that its more deadly than other common viruses. And besides, natural immunity is just as good or better than vaccines. I know people that got Covid even after all the vaccines and boosters.

I mean I would but I take Covid misinformation very seriously

Trollheart 07-11-2022 11:51 AM

Somebody parroting, verbatim, the cry of the Covid deniers. Well, I'm convinced.

Here's an idea: why not contact someone on Facebook or Twitter who's been through this, who's lost someone? See how inflated the figures are then, see how it's just a little flu (most ridiculous assertion I ever heard)? No? Well then.
