Only if it's their very first foray into the working world. And ultimately the issue is on them for undervaluing their work.
Flip it around. If the house sells prior to a paint job. Do you really think the painter can charge $15k to add a fresh coat to the walls? The potential value of the house increases by the same amount but it's no longer going to be sold.
So do they price themselves out of work out of some misguided sense of entitlement to $15k? Or do they take the $2000?
