Only if it's their very first foray into the working world. And ultimately the issue is on them for undervaluing their work.

Flip it around. If the house sells prior to a paint job. Do you really think the painter can charge $15k to add a fresh coat to the walls? The potential value of the house increases by the same amount but it's no longer going to be sold.

So do they price themselves out of work out of some misguided sense of entitlement to $15k? Or do they take the $2000?

What is the alternative system by which you think people would be paid what they are owed?

An agreed upon price for the services rendered at first, then once expenses are cleared (including costs for future planning and such depending on the business model), distribute the profits as a bonus.

So capitalism but with kindness

I'll hold my breath

Frownland 07-31-2019 06:22 PM

I never said it was pragmatic or adoptable in our current system.

jwb 07-31-2019 06:23 PM

@ elph
Such as.....

jwb 07-31-2019 06:37 PM

You assume the same system of trade would persist even if you yank the profit motive out from under it?

jwb 07-31-2019 06:48 PM

So basically communism?

I'm not trying to be a dick just trying to understand what you mean

jwb 07-31-2019 06:58 PM

What happens when a an armed organized group decides to invade?
