I'd heard Center of your Mind but didn't make the connection till much later. I really think being 12 in 1972 might have been about the perfect age/time to start learning guitar.

Ahhh that makes sense. I forgot you’re even older than I am. So you heard Stranglehold basically right when it came out in 75. I still have one Amboy Dukes on vinyl. It’s a weird and maybe unofficial release. It’s Call of the Wild but it opens with Journey to the Center of the Mind. Don’t ask me how. They may have just added that track because nobody would buy Call of the Wild. I had no idea it wasn’t originally on that record. I bought it for that track that I heard on the radio.
