It's inexcusable not to have witnesses in the trial, and I think most people know this. Yet the Trump team doesn't want witnesses, they don't want Trump to testify himself, they don't want documents sent over, etc.

Any Republican Senator who cooperates with the Democrats and votes for witnesses such as John Bolton risk becoming an enemy of Trump and being primaried by a Trump supporter in the upcoming elections in the Senate.

Yet there are a few Senators in purple districts that will have a lot of pressure from their constituents to vote in favor of witnesses.

So these 4-6 Senators are between a rock and a hard place. Very possible several of them will fall by the wayside in the upcoming elections as a direct result of how they vote on impeachment.

I wish someone would pay me $2 million to make up stories about Trump. Bolton got a pretty sweet gig now that he can't jumpstart WW3.

I will probably download his book if I decide to read it.

Bolton is a sleaze bag but I have no reason to doubt Trump did what he's accused of. I don't even believe the people who defend him actually think he's innocent.

Delaney, longest-running Democratic candidate, ends 2020 bid

At this moment in time, this is not the purpose God has for me,” Delaney said, in an interview with CNN. “We’ve clearly shaped the debate in a very positive way."
Sure you did.

I don't think it was a smart idea (as far as activities go) to approach Ukraine and punish them for attempted 2016 election interference by pushing on Hunter Biden and Burisma (even if it's an obvious place to push), but I don't think it was an impeachable offense either. It reinforces the point that the U.S. shouldn't be all of these other countries' piggybank when we borrow money from countries like China anyway.

Months ago when all this started, I said that I thought this particular impeachment process was a waste of time when they could have been focusing their efforts on getting his tax returns or other finances. Clearly those things were not a priority since the entire voting body decided to bet the farm on this instead.

You do know that Donny's being impeached for exactly that offense though, right?

And? If he isn't removed (the crux of the impeachment process) what's the point? "High crimes and misdemeanors" but no Bribery? It's stupid.
