I thought this was a thread for adults. With comments like that, I think we should change the title.

The concept that America is the worst country in history, and that somehow we've cheated our way to the top is analogous to "The moon landing was faked."

It's not a position that warrants thoughtful discussion. It's just entitled virtue signaling in which the goal is "I want to tell everyone I'm very smart and morally upright." But it isn't factual.

If there's any reason to look at American's with disdain, it's their laziness when it comes to their civil duty.

How many corny cliches can you fit in one post?

I don't think it's that controversial to say that no country had more of a negative impact on the world than the United States in the last decades.

Eh, the biggest contributor to American dominance is the bombing of Hiroshima and an absurd military force that's used to hold the world hostage. That allowed us to partake in a lot of global exploitative behaviour that amounts to imperialism. Domestically, the oligarchy doesn't exactly strike me as fair and square.

Congratulations on being a grown up, but don't use that as an excuse to ignore the very real terrible **** that America is built on.

Winning ww2 was what put us on top, and now all of a sudden having an empire is "wrong" according to the Europeans of all people! Sore losers.
