I understand why that has the vibes of fascism but it still isn't a fascist regime even by your definition (which is overly vague) unless you can explain how it's an actual dictatorship.

I thought I did.

How is it not?

Every single check and balance that's supposed to apply to the president doesn't seem to anymore. He doesn't get an actual trial for crimes, he can interpret the law any way he wants, doesn't need congressional permission to start a war, can deprive funding to any state that questions him and is trying to write laws (have laws written) to prevent social media outlets from fact checking him.

It's just short of taking control of the media and executing people for speaking on him.

It's like a dictatorship under the illusion of a democratic republic.

Well.. the government is elected and the power is distributed through multiple branches instead of concentrated in a dictator.

He has more power than the president used to but that's not even close to absolute power. He couldn't even repeal the ACA with majority control in Congress.

For now.

The multiple branches don't mean **** when the dictator... president has the powers of all three as presented earlier.

Oh that's been creeping since George W. Bush was president & you can thank Dick Cheney for that one.

Although I wonder why so many people who are whining about it now were ok with it when Obomber was in office

They actually weren't. My Obama supporting political science teacher gave a very passionate rant about this which is how I learned about it.

Yes, I assumed we were talking about right now.

So at what point in becoming a dictatorship should I be aloud to call it fascism in your opinion?
