No, I quite like getting along with my fellow citizens. The problem is that without a government that has the power and right to exert violence on it's citizens, people who aren't quite as nice as me will band together and be unstoppable in their nefarious pursuits. Taking control of an area with no centralized military protection is easy. Am I being overly pessimistic here?

For people who are not paying attention, I have a feeling Trump still just somehow symbolizes "rebellion against the establishment". To be fair, the contemporary geopolitical scene is a confusing mess.

I'm lazy, so someone tell me, is the current Spanish Govt considered right wing, and if not, are the right fuelling this violence against Catalonia at all? Kind of "only real Spaniards" thing. Of course, then they'd want them to declare independence and **** off. Confusing. But either way, cracking down in an authoritarian way like this is just plain wrong and will backfire on the Spanish govt, especially in the international community. How long before this action is condemned by other countries, if it has not already been?

Yeah guy who stands to profit financially from war undermines diplomatic efforts. Nothing corrupt as **** about that.
