In this analogy you are the junior partner in a relationship where you are treated however the senior partner feel like without consideration for your worth as a human being.

Yeah, I get that, except based on your and OH's posting history, you get butthurt over serving customers or standing somewhere you don't feel like standing, which isn't abuse. As I said, typically people do defend abuse in the work place, but you getting upset about having a superior is not abuse. If someone you know is telling you to suck it up and stay at a job that makes you miserable they are giving you bad advice, but just because a job makes you miserable doesnt mean youre in an abusive relationship with it.

Bro, this is **** I see everyday and I'm not even talking about myself. Convincing yourself that your job is fine, everything's fine, it's fine, is just what people do at jobs. If they didn't there wouldn't be anyone working in the service industry, construction, probably most trades, white collar offices, etc, etc, etc, and dickhead bosses would all get fired for not being able to keep any employees.
