How many white people died fighting to free the slaves? How many white people stood up for the civil rights movement?

How many white people died to keep the slaves? How many white people stood against the civil rights movement?

Some people are good, some aren't. Quit acting like it's the evil white man that's holding you back. It's just evil that does.

It's kind of mind blowing to me that I never thought of it this way. Even though I know the outlines of what happened back then, historically.

Way more white people probably fought for slaves and segregation than fought against it though.

Ja but there are varying levels of evil and not all of the people who were complicit in evil had evil intentions, so it wasn't even evil that's holding you back, it's level ten evil.

True.

It's like the conversation is always about how white people are **** - and historical records will confirm if you broadbrush - but I don't know... Am I asking to be given credit for the small mercies? Honestly, I don't even really think of myself as part of "white people" as a group. I think of myself as a citizen of planet Earth and as a male first and foremost, I guess?

Not sure this reply makes sense, but the dots connected in my mind.
