That's the thing. I watch all sorts of Youtube videos made from an American perspective. Then I look outside then window (so to speak) and it's calm and there's no drama of that sort. We've got a rather large population segment of middle eastern people, but no terror and very little strife in general.

Of course we don't have that prickly issue with slavery and such. I think it's really quite understandable that there's a lot of unrest in the US. Slavery, Jim Crow, police shootings of black citizens... completely unlike what's going on where I live - both currently and in terms of the last couple hundred years of history.

I read and watch so much that's from an American perspective, but I keep having to adjust it to what my world looks like.

Every morning, I make sure to put toothpaste in my eyes and use the nail clipper to pinch my balls, so I think I deserve to live. I still need to get better at feeling shameful and inexcusable every waking hour though.

And to Puertoricans like me that don't live in the US. Why don't you brownies just vote for independence? I've never understood that. We don't care about you and as far as I know you don't care about us. Why are our countries even linked? We took you as booty from Spain and there's literally no other reason why you are still our booty.
