America's fixation with race comes from it's deep rooted history of racism that it fails to truly ever acknowledge and tries to sweep under the rug while the long term effects of it are still prevalent today.

Not only does our education system do a half assed summary of our racist history, but any time it's brought up or even current discrimination gets brought up people construe it as an attack on white people.

The biggest reason we have such a huge divide in the US is because everybody wants to talk but nobody really wants to shut the **** up and listen to each other. That's why I can't bring up discrimination against minorities with out being accused of 'white shaming'. Or why somebody can't be anti-immigration with out being accused of being a racist. That's why Donald Trump won. We're a country of loud mouthed and arrogant ignorant twats that thrive off of narcissism and spite. He's the perfect representative for us.
