I stand by my position that she should cut him off but family is family. I do think rewarding negative behavior is a bad policy even if the person is manic. That’s not professional nor does it mean I don’t want the best for everyone involved.


I went to pharmacy finally to get my meds, timed with cupboards about bare and they didn’t have it. Said I waited too long. I was like hey man how long would it take you to go back there and put 30 pills in the bottle.

Monday.

Sigh.

I know I’m grown and can’t use my crazy as an excuse and I gotta man up and take my pills but I was NOT going to stop taking my pills. I was committed. Then they were just gone. Their **** up. Once I don’t take it it’s like my brain keeps telling me not to ****ing take them. I know I just gotta be a man about it. But I have to take them to be in the right headspace to take them. Otherwise my crazy just says don’t take them. I swear it. ****. Now I’m back to thinking super dark ass **** - it’s just ****ing frustrating. The old pharmacist would’ve just waited for me to get around to it but they got this new guy. I know the lady pharmacist for years. She knows all my history. Hooked me up with the community health. Now she’s not around. Idk wtf.

I know it’s ridiculous but it’s got me so upset it’s like got me in a crying spell. It’s just **** **** **** **** ****

There's nothing ridiculous about what you're feeling. Vicious cycles like that sound very natural to me, and it's a pretty common thing. It's on them for not being more understanding and not being able to adapt to it. Knowing how to deal with those struggles should be part of their work for ****s sake.
That being said, of course you should be brave, go get your meds, and take them. It just really sucks that they make it even harder for you than it could be. Hold on through the weekend, once you're medicated again you'll feel better.

Yeah. I’m not pissed at them like with certain things in the past because I feel like it’s just honest mistakes.

And the pharmacy was doing covid vaccines for 65 plus so it wasn’t a small ask to take time to refill my meds especially when I should’ve called them after I knew they had been sitting there for too long

I’m frustrated but I’m not like PISSED.

Before I was so pissed at my doctor because it felt personal. I mean a long time ago. Not this doctor.

Anyway frustrated is frustrated but fully pissed is scary.

These are frustrating times.

This might sound kind of weird but I didn’t bring my phone with me or take even half a Xanax. It’s kind of weird to intentionally not bring your phone. Like it’s some kind of personal statement.

Agree 1,000% Marie. OH, is this pharmacy open tomorrow? Can't they dispense an emergency dose, enough for just a few days until the full prescription can be filled? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding anything here. I'm really sorry you're going through this.

There was a law passed several years ago that took away the ability to put people on mandatory holds, unless they vocalize intent to harm themselves. It’s why cops aren’t able to take homeless people to a treatment center even when they’re clearly suffering from mental or physical illnesses.

Hope Dana is doing ok, that’s a lot to take on emotionally without being able to do anything about it.

It ain’t that big a thing. I’m just being a drama queen. The real problem isn’t them getting to me it’s my stubborn ass won’t put them in my mouth.

It’s why cops aren’t able to take homeless people to a treatment center even when they’re clearly suffering from mental or physical illnesses.

They round them up and take them to jail here for loitering or trespassing or whatever.

I know for a fact our county lock up has an infirmary with no psychologist, psychiatrist, or social worker on the payroll. The jail has two nurses on premises unless one or both calls in and a GP on call.

Fun fact: Last week in the infirmary an inmate intentionally clogged the toilet, **** in the corner, stole another inmates towel, covered it in the feces and then proceeded to choke out the other inmate with the **** smeared towel and had nearly killed the other inmate patient before the guards broke it up over ten minutes later.

Well yeah, you can incarcerate them, you just can’t connect them with resources because that’s illegal.

It’s been with impressive grit and tenacity that people have improved community outreach for the mentally ill down here. But when it comes to prison reform there’s almost no sympathy to the idea in the south. No matter how obscene and barbaric conditions are there’s not an ounce of compassion anywhere. People could watch a clip of a man being raped tortured and killed and their only comment is on wasting money to run a TV spotted in the background. I’m not exaggerating. The bloodlust desire for medieval conditions for prisoners here is insatiable.
