I'm starting therapy again, my mom is happy about that and that makes me happy. I am 76 days sober from weed now too, it's been nice being able to drive to places when before I didn't drive if I smoked weed, so I was stuck at home a lot.

Been 2 years with no alcohol, and now 76 days completely sober I am starting to have nightmares often. I think the weed took the dreams away and now I am having bad dreams where I'll wake up crying and running into the living room scared. So this is the soberest I have been since 2015.

After crying randomly again last night I figured maybe I should see a professional and see if talking to someone new would help.

Not sure what a therapist can do though, I plan to just be grateful for someone to listen to me rant if that's what happens in therapist offices.

Good to see you're on this journey and help from a therapist or anyone else familiar with addiction and substances is a blessing. It takes time. For me, it takes at least 3 months for the physiological changes to settle and I start to emerge from the brain fog. Finding the reasons why I self medicate has been the most helpful in understanding it all. Keep pushing through Mindy, it's very much worth the effort.

I mentioned on Friday that I was let go from my 6-year career in IT following an 18-year run as a graphic designer. I spent the weekend compiling info and applying for Medicaid to hopefully cover my anxiety medications and related routine appointments.

Today I learned that my psychiatrist doesn't accept any of the health insurance plans covered under Medicaid. So I'll have to pay her out of pocket for every appointment. And consequently, the scripts she writes won't be covered under insurance either so I'll have to pay for them out of pocket as well.

Her secretary kindly referred me to a price comparison website for medications and it looks like I should be able to have them filled at a local grocer and pay a slightly reduced price.

I'm waiting to hear which plans, if any, are accepted by my talk therapist. That will be critical. Hopefully this is all resolved once I have new insurance coverage under a new employer. If I'm not employed in the next 3 months I'll have a lot more to worry about than just medications. I can't imagine losing my home.

innerspaceboy that's sad about the job situation, hopefully you can find something soon. I saw your post in your day thread and didnt know what to type. Hope you can find the medications for cheap that you're looking for.
