Movies, books, TV, music, etc can fulfill the same purpose if you pursue that interest with passion, but comic books always have a next step built in that you don't need to seek out. Interesting, so you would call that feeling exciting? I love getting invested in comics and I always do when I find a good one but I rarely read them. I fill a lot of the gap with music that's for sure. Just doesn't always do the trick and becomes background noise sometimes.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

It feels like an entire world separate from our own that is important and meaningful, with people inhabiting it that are worth our consideration, respect, and affection, with an expansive history to learn and take joy from. The medium of paper and ink is simply how we become aware of this world, and when your perception of that world transcends the paper and ink it ceases to be fictional and there are now two worlds in which you exist, or three worlds if you read both Marvel and DC. And with all the other comic universes out there there are as many worlds as are written, but the continuous worlds of Marvel and DC are the most pure forms of this expansive creationism.

Nice, what would you recommend best? My friends keep urging me to read Doom Patrol.

Doom Patrol's pretty great, but for someone looking to dip their toes into comics I would suggest Ultimate Spider-Man. When the first X-Men and Spider-Man movies came out Marvel wanted to create an alternate universe to reimagine their comics without all of the decades of continuity so that people who'd never read a comic in their life could read something that had the core Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, whatever, but not be turned off by having to know a whole bunch of history.

Ultimate Spider-Man is a very modern retelling of everything important to the character so that you can start at the beginning but is also fresh and interesting but most of all it has an immense amount of heart and love poured into it. It's really the most perfect way for someone to get into comics.

Ultimate Spider-Man #1

Rad I'll definitely look into that, loved Into the Spiderverse so I assume that's the same universe?

Nope. Spiderverse is main Marvel universe.

Oh wait hol' up I was thinking of the Spider-verse comic. The movie is I'm assuming its own specific universe. Miles Morales does come from the Ultimate universe though.

I feel myself entering hypomania and like i'm stoked on the boost in productivity and everything but it's hard to even enjoy it when you just know the other shoe will surely be dropping soon.

Had a pretty bad mental breakdown last night. Slept for only a few hours because I'd wake up in tears. So much going on (a lot of which I wont mention here but feel free to PM if you're interested). Really starting to take a toll on me so last night wasnt entirely surprising. Not feeling all too great today either. I need a change in my life or something.
