You know, if Obama was still president, Republicans would probably be even more fervent in not wearing masks as a dumb political statement. Imagine how Republicans would've reacted if Obama said: "We should all be wearing masks to protect each other" - we'd get responses like: "Obama is literally trying to institute sharia law!! He's trying to take away our freedoms!!"

If Obama were still president the American death toll would probably be about 10% of what it is under Trump. His administration did a fantastic job controlling Ebola. There would still be weird outliers refusing to take basic measures but Obama wouldn’t be throwing fuel on the fire. Spreading the virus wouldn’t be a normalized patriotic rite of passage under anyone but Trump.

Yea, the anti mask sentiment during a pandemic is probably the dumbest culture war this country ever engaged in.

Watching that recent Chris Wallace interview with Trump was surreal even though I should be used to it. Just the complete refusal to engage with reality is difficult to imagine in any other president.

Like another president would try to explain away inconvenient yet irrefutable facts where as Trump just denies them.

Not only did he refuse to engage with reality, he refused to accept the softball pitches from Fox ****ing News until even Chris ****ing Wallace was like, "Hey, you know what? **** you."
