Well, even though 98 percent of the expected vote is in, according to ABC News, we’re going to call it a night and check back in early tomorrow. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has said that not all of the vote will be counted this evening. He told CNN earlier that he expects that we’ll have a “better idea” of where things stand by noon tomorrow.

Democrat Raphael Warnock won one of Georgia’s two Senate runoffs Wednesday, becoming the first Black senator in his state’s history and putting the Senate majority within the Democrats’ reach.

A pastor who spent the past 15 years leading the Atlanta church where Martin Luther King Jr. preached, Warnock defeated Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler. It was a stinging rebuke of outgoing President Donald Trump, who made one of his final trips in office to Georgia to rally his loyal base behind Loeffler and the Republican running for the other seat, David Perdue.

The focus now shifts to the second race between Perdue and Democrat Jon Ossoff. That contest was too early to call as votes were still being counted. If Ossoff wins, Democrats will have complete control of Congress, strengthening President-elect Joe Biden’s standing as he prepares to take office on Jan. 20.

Considering the Perdue-Ossoff race runoff there are just 2% of the votes left to be counted with the overwhelming majority likely to be Democratic. So it looks like a total state Senate flip. And, although I wish him gone altogether, at least the current Majority senator can kiss his obstructionist domination (to everything save corporate bail-outs/tax write-offs) of that governmental body goodbye. The eternal NO will come to haunt him worse than a loss of power in the future.

Karma is no fail b*tch.

Yep! I didn't really expect Ossoff to lead, but he's 50.2% to Perdue's 49.8 % (at same moment as you, ando: 2% votes uncounted). Looking good for Ossoff, the Dems, the Senate and ultimately, the USA.
Nice to wake up to some unexpected good news for a change!

Good. Even if the majorities in the Senate and House are slim it still removes the excuse of being the minority when Biden and the Dems fail to do their jobs in the next year.

I hope as soon as these results are confirmed that Mitch McConnell suddenly melts into a pile of sticky black goo. And we'll all discover that this whole time he was only being kept alive by the sheer evil and hatred of the GOP, which is now finally being destroyed

Congress is debating whether or not to uphold the presidential election right now.

Incredible that it’s even a discussion.

NYTimes live scroll said some Trump supporters are clashing with the police.

The second senate seat in Georgia is close.
