I made the point about floating down there on a flotilla not because I'm saying love it or leave it but to clue you in on the stakes of making such a journey. People aren't doing that **** frivolously. They're obviously fleeing from desperate circumstances.

They don’t want liberation. They want to become capitalist oppressors.

I’m sick of people chasing the American dream. The American dream is to try to put yourself in a position where you can hoard wealth and oppress others. They shouldn’t be here working hard and crying because they love Trump and Ronald Reagan. They should be blowing up buildings because America has spent decades keeping their homeland down.

Like to the extent maybe currents are relevant... It's only cause they are being trapped there by a regime that won't let them leave and so their only escape route is via jumping on a raft out to sea and praying that you make it across.... That's kinda the point.

It would be a lot harder to take one against a current though, admit it.

That's really just it. You don't understand why poor people want to not be poor. That is really all you mean by the American dream. People want money. Poor people especially. You don't understand why people would come from a 3rd world banana republic and be happy to live here cause you don't know that struggle. That's all it really is fundamentally. People's politics aren't always completely informed or bound to confirm your meta narrative. Get over it.

Yeah but we don't need to and we still are less likely to want to move there than vice versa.

I picked the flotillas explicitly to demonstrate the obvious desperation involved. Something we probably have a hard time actually relating to. That's just our privilege though.

OccultHawk 10-26-2020 04:57 PM

How many third world countries have you been to exactly?

jwb 10-26-2020 05:02 PM

I haven't been to any cause I don't have the means to go galavanting around the world like some tourist

Why'd ya come back, pal?

Hmm I'm not buying it. The laws of physics as applied to currents are universal.

jwb 10-26-2020 05:07 PM

You're not buying what? You just said we can take a plane there so we don't even need the damn currents

Yet the net immigration obviously flows in one direction

Frownland 10-26-2020 05:09 PM

It's not my fault that you chose the poor example of one way floatopias.

jwb 10-26-2020 05:12 PM

I already explained why lol and you still won't actually address the point out of sheer stubbornness

I picked the most desperate way Cubans get here to highlight said desperation... Guess what? They don't all come on ****ing flotillas

It's just like with Mexico... Generally speaking people are sneaking across the border to live in America... Not the other way around. Or like the ships of refugees who leave the middle east and Africa for Europe. Stop being dense you know exactly what I'm saying.
