Oh wait you mean he sees them as a factor/threat to be taken seriously? That does sound optimistic to me but I hope you're right
I don't think Cruz cares about anything but himself, including his children and his wife.

They're not as important. Some loud-mouthed pinkhair or cowboy screaming about CRT or Jesus both doesn't read policy, and needs to feel like an expert so they dig in on cultural issues where their gut is enough of a source to cite from.

But you can't eat gun rights, or adding the X to latino. Being able to pay the bills, and feed your kids, and keep the lights on is more important that people's feelings. In fact people's feelings are worse than useless. They're a distraction that benefits the oligarchy.

Then it isn't liberation. Furthermore, and this is just one man's opinion here, you can't even get to liberation for (in this case) the whites without the non-whites. The 1% just plays the Race War card.

Economics drives social issues though. Economically disadvantaged whites on average care more about abortion than economically stable whites because that economic insecurity makes them want to lash out at potential enemies and the rich whites swoop in with distractions like abortion to give them an enemy that doesn't threaten the status quo.

Exactly, social and economic issues are intertwined, and that is why there is a common goal, but people either don't understand that or are too small minded to rise above the prejudices they were brought up with.
I also think separating social and economic issues and accusing the other group of neglecting one is usually an attempt to justify sticking to those prejudices

That is just one of the things that stops people from realising they have a common enemy and goal

I mean I was speaking more about issues people actually vote for but whether Chudness is nature or nurture it can still be cultivated by political actors as can class consciousness.

I don't know, there's a healthy history of deception in this country that I'd find it hard to believe the rich had nothing to do with. They're in league with the politicians.

1. Car dominance in the US is because automotive companies paid for crossing guards in small towns across the country to teach children "the road is for cars, not people."
2. The Food Pyramid, which I grew up with, was not based in science but gined up to sell more dairy products iirc
3. The death of the electric vehicle, the overthrow of iranian democracy, the gulf of tonkin, and the alleged greatness of radiohead

We've been lied to forever, and it benefits the wealthy every time.

My support for Biden is largely because I think he's able to speak to the Rightward voters in a way that gets them to see a Unions value. I hope that I'm right. And also he likes trains.

But I don't like Biden's love for Israel, whatever this **** is with Trump and the defamation suit I don't like (though I have yet to sit down with it fully), and I think he's way wrong on student debt. I just think it's a major waste of time to post **** like "omg Biden is such a boomer lmao" and then, when pressed, support some never-candidate.
