I'm still failing to understand how the Eagles are in that family. To me they come across was a very polished and somewhat generic form of classic rock.

Yeah. I mean I can’t argue with taste. Also, you don’t get on a pedestal and say they’re trash. You just say you don’t like them. I understand that.

I think they have good songs that everyone should be able to enjoy but you’re not like hey listen Hawk I can tell you what’s what.

Plus, I always respect where you come from with hip hop because the artists you like always have a gritty genuine feel to their music. When you post a YouTube link I always listen.

I think you like what you like and I also like what you like. There’s a difference between saying I find the Eagles boring and saying the Eagles are boring. I’d probably be disappointed if you liked the Eagles because it’s not your way and I respect that.
I think possibly they have some nostalgic value for you that say Tupac or No Limit have for me.

Where as bands like the Eagles I associate with my early childhood hearing it at bbqs and on classic rock stations. That was long before I was at all interested in music, so part of the problem is that long before I could appreciate music, I had already heard Hotel California 20,000 times and it was already old, stale, boring. Basically my parents music. Plus I'm just not generally into the kinds of long sentimental classic rock ballads they have. Desperadooooo... I know I'm meant to feel something but I'm ****ing falling asleep over here here

Its like stairway to heaven.. I couldn't possibly be more bored if I tried

I get a similar thing with songs like Free Bird but as far as southern rock goes, I'd take skynyrd over the eagles any day. The beef between them and Neil Young was hilarious. Speaking of which Neil Young is one of the goats to me.

Do you disagree on stairway to heaven/long sentimental rock ballads? To me stairway to heaven had potential if It were possible to speed the process up. It just takes too long to get there and the climax isn't interesting enough to justify that. But that could be my ADD talking. To me the best part of the song is the flute at the very beginning

Also... With regard to 3 6 being in the same family as No limit... Its funny cause they both have the sort of low budget production and are both southern so I can see some similarities there, but I wouldn't exactly put them in the same family for a number of reasons.

3 6 is closer to the horrorcore type genre where you have a lot of crossover appeal to people who maybe don't usually listen to hip hop. A lot of white fans of 3 6 etc who don't follow hip hop as a whole, because of their sort of cult following.

No Limit is not a group with a dedicated cult fan base like 3 6. They were underground for a time but only locally. When they blew up, they blew up big and dominated the rap charts for a good year or 2 with dozens of high selling albums. Then they were almost immediately replaced by cash money and have languished in rich obscurity ever since.

Its not common for people to retroactively get into no limit. Not saying it can't happen but that's not their legacy. Their legacy in hip hop is impactful but actually skewed pretty negative by most people. Where as 3 6 mafia is more of a fringe group.

I love Stairway.

It’s not my favorite rock epic whatever you call it.

I like Free Bird and Styx Come Sail Away better

I love love love listening to Stairway backwards though

Great analysis. I agree completely.

I actually used to love that Styx song when I was a kid lol. Can't listen to it anymore though. I also loved Bohemian Rhapsody. I didn't know it was about him getting aids or whatever... I thought it was literally about his mom shooting him lol. I still like that one but there are other queen songs like we are the champions etc which are boring to me now cause they got so overplayed.

iah though I probably prefer certain no limit tracks to anything 3 6 ever made personally.. I would also give them more credit than no limit as far as creating a unique sound production wise.
