An an aside, for you, a standard issue woke US millennial, "race" means *aoc voice* "black and brown folks", which has obvious historic validity in the American context. But if you read proper "race scientists", esp the glorious French tradition of race historians, you know that pretty much any trait can be codified as "racially distinct", as intrinsic to a certain group of people. To centre it back to the apparently confusing point, I think it's okay to judge anti-vax/maskers for their actions and that it's not comparable to the persecution of the Roma people that you mentioned.

That wasn't a comparison, that's just me alluding to reports that TH is not a fan of Irish travelers.

Obviously refusing a vaccine is the ultimate "something you choose" whereas being born into one group of people is the ultimate "something you don't choose" (even putting aside that the line between the two is not always as distinct). But a punitive and vindictive attitude toward the former often goes hand in hand with racial prejudice. The most disgusting racists in America typically blame inner-city kids for "poor life choices".
