It's an interesting question that must be confronted as to when some bully who utilizes MAD to threaten you can be stopped.

At what point does America and/or NATO progress past sanctions and strongly worded letters?

At some point, NATO will need to step in and show them that we have our own bombs and hope that they value their lives as much as we value ours - and then give them a good punch in the nose.

Who's got the guts?

Chernobyl no-go zone targeted as Russia invades Ukraine

An official familiar with current assessments said Russian shelling hit a radioactive waste repository at Chernobyl, and an increase in radiation levels was reported. The increase could not be immediately corroborated.

Still, where's the line drawn? Would NATO wait until one of its own member countries (Poland, Romania) is directly threatened before they nut up? Or are they going to engage in a modern day "Munich Agreement"?

Personally, I don't think Putin would be willing to risk his entire country's well-being for his military ventures. But I also don't think NATO or America have the gumption to threaten him with it. And I think Putin knows that.

Also, this whole ordeal is a prime example of why North Korea doesn't want to give up their nuclear weapons, and I can't say that I blame them.

i think having nuclear weapons actually prevents total war were neither side can push to far

so there might be a time were Russia test NATOs resolve the will attack the bloc states Romania and Poland etc etc and the west will try and defend them with conventional means

but russia will go no further west then germany

acctually its prob in USA turkey and France and UK to all leave nato its really not in there best interest to be in this alliance anymore

It's not appeasement if they're gonna conquer a limited amount of territory. **** off.
