Also, every once in awhile I get 3 or 4 people around here who call for my head. Once upon a time it was to be demodded. Now its how I'm a determent to the boards despite almost never being here. Lets call a spade a spade here. I **** on your "look at me, I'm so socially enlightened" parade for being antithetical to progress and you got bent out of shape.
I honestly have no idea which thread you're referencing. I'm pretty sure I didn't post anything in any thread that fits your description.

What other thread have I posted in besides that around here that you take umbridge with? I'm seriously asking this question. I drag myself back here trying to find value and I get met with whiny soap-box-hogging grandstanders who don't want me around because of one thread...
Most of your posts bother me (although I do like Tom Waits). I'd have to do some research to give you a concise answer. Also, didn't you already claim the whiny soap-box for your own a long time ago? If not, take it, I don't want it.

Most of that was for Ska Lagos who got pissed I called him a closed-minded jackass in a thread about the problems of homosexuality.

As for you, Engine, I don't know what your problem is with me, but whatever it is I hope it works out for you.

Besides, the original topic that this came from has nothing to do with anyone's moral compass. It's the fact that it was brought from the grave for the 80th time where as any actual band based thread is lucky to have 5 replies before it does.

Maybe, the 'regs' left because:

A) There's way too little music discussion so we can't talk about that.

B) When we discuss non-music ideals we have a condescending head-hunting jackass who wishes to grind their opinions in the ground as patronizingly as possible. ****, maybe my original reply was patronizing but at least it was to the thread, not a blatant dig on another member. Then again, you're the noob-destroyer.

That was your post. Thats all you ****ing said to someones tribute thread. I scare new people away?

You know I've bit my tongue for awhile but this place is a ****ing disgrace. A mod agreed with you on that one too. So in light of this, let me spill my guts about the mod team.

No saying anything when the forum starts to unravel is irresponsbile. Not publically realigning things, so people know there are rules, what they are, and how they should be interperted, is irresponsible. I don't really speak to any of you, so maybe you feel this way, but honestly I just don't get the plan sometimes. Theres no coherent message, and madness like this is allowed to run rampant.

No one here owes me anything. My time is over and frankly when I asked Yac to delete my account, I wish I hadn't been talked out of it. But new people come here a lot, theres a new crop of regulars. What must they think? For Ska Lagos to say I scare away new people, then make such a douchey post which was barely on topic, assanine, and elitist to the Nth degree is outlandish.

I'm done trying to make a ****ing difference. This place has driven me absolutely bat**** bonkers. I just look at everything that goes on and I wonder "does anyone give a **** anymore?" This place has become a playground for the bored and the boring.

If you read this, and you don't know any of the backstory then take this away from my post: If you're new here, don't use the shoutbox. Don't look for easy topics like Zeppelin, Sabbath, Tupac, and Lady Gaga. Go read the journals, they are a treasure trove of great new music and insightful commentary beyond the "i like them" one-liners that infect the regular threads and forums.

It's 2011, and John Bonham died in 1980. Of course, it's logical nobody is going to take a thread like that very seriously. I mean, he might as well done an "RIP Napoleon" thread.

And you're not fixing anything. As I stated a million times before you barely ever talk about music on these forums, and grind people into the ground on any lounge related topic.

I may be a pretentious **** but I think my posting history can attest to the fact I've been extensively contributing to the jazz, classical, avant garde, metal, and even pop forums. You've just been contributing to the topics only about the bands that the Rolling Stone has been beating everyone over the head with as superior anyway.

So, please, if you're tired of trying to fix this 'festering wasteland' then **** off, I don't think it needs you.

P.S. Jazz drummers are better from a technical and emotional level than John Bonham. Elvin Jones will never get a 30 year post-mortem remembrance even though he's infinitely more skilled, and significant. It's a shame you're too busy sucking up to Jack White's dinosaur '3 chord hipster **** rehashing of a genre that's been rehashed so many times it's cliched' cock to realize what I'm trying to do here.

Long standing who complain about this place going downhill - hypocrites for not particularly really contributing to the music discussion. I'm sure it'd be great to have guys like Clutnuckle, and James back, but they're not going to magically come back, and make this place better. Please either:

A) Contribute to the music discussion just a little bit.

B) Leave.

I left this forum for 3 months due to a ridiculous freakshow begging people to support album clubs, post new blogs etc. After enthusiastically running 2 blogs(one included a discography of a man who did 100 albums), etc. I am shocked I came back after the ridiculously prolonged ****storm that happened after Dirty had been banned for the second time.

Fact of the matter is, I really do believe in this place. But I kind of feel that the only thing that is hurting it is the quality of posts NOT the quality of members. Sure, I'll argue with a new guy here and there, but I'm including them in discussion. It's better than the mindless sniping, and sarcasm that's happening otherwise.

Rather than hoping the 'good members' come back, maybe we should be spending effort actually trying to generate interest in music than trying to establish as some sort of base the new guys can defend their points, and bring new ones.

And if anyone blames it on my attitude, or whatever the **** happened with TheBig3. That was my personal reaction to a ridiculous snipe from a man who prided himself in sniping people condescendingly. I am not taking the fall for this whiney, sarcastic, walker toting 'remember the good ol' days of this forum' geezer elitist bull****.

Nor my purist music attitude meant to dispel, and give option to members to question the norms mainstream culture forces upon them. Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe, but it at least ****ing generates conversation relating to the core topics, NOT sniping, or elitist sarcasm.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 11-07-2011 03:10 AM

Doom Drew - probably the best noob we've had in awhile, just popped up out of nowhere. Hopefully he keeps around.

Howard the Duck 11-07-2011 04:59 PM

eraser.head - no getting through no matter how valid your points are

s_k 11-10-2011 09:51 AM

Guys, I've been back for a while now and I got to point out that it's great to see ALL of you again :)

Necromancer 11-17-2011 06:34 PM

I don't think this place is the same without the presence of The Big3. He has always been more entertaining than most all other members through the years since Ive been here at MB.

GuitarBizarre 11-17-2011 07:10 PM

Positive Comments about MB members, the GuitarBizarre edition.

RezZ - Nice dude, earnest, holds me in higher regard than he probably should but I'm not gonna stop him ;)

Janzsoon - He's got that whole Hands-off hands-on moderation thing ****ing DIALED, and bizarrely I find myself agreeing with a great number of his posts.

tore - Makes posts and happens to be a cool dude. should post more.

skaligojura - has times when he isn't posting.

Paloma - Can be rocky going sometimes but generally status quo is restored eventually and she becomes one of the staple members with whom I interact here on MB.

TockTockTock 11-17-2011 08:52 PM

Hip hop bunny hop: I'm starting to warm up to him

Zer0: an incredibly underrated member who has a wealth of knowledge on indie and alternative rock that I can't even begin to comprehend.

Necromancer: consider him added to my list of nicest members on Music Banter

Necromancer 11-18-2011 12:10 PM

Thank You Jack Pat. And I hold you in very high regards as well young man.

I cant believe that you are only 19 years old!

A lot of the other members here at MB are even younger than you are, and they have equally amazing personalities for their age, as well as you do.

Speaking for myself, I am actually very attached to a lot of the members here at MB, that I feel are friends for Life.

Thom Yorke 11-26-2011 08:53 PM

TomClancy11 is a cool noob with a great taste in music and seems really open to different kinds of music as well.

I also think Pedestrian is doing a hell of a job as a mod.

Really spilling my guts on those ones.

Goofle 11-29-2011 07:28 AM

Cheers.

Thom Yorke is a fan-boy who seems to copy everything I do... ;)

Scarlett O'Hara 11-29-2011 11:34 PM

Urban.

Urban, Urban, Urban.

He is the man. Since I joined in 2005 he has honestly been my best internet friend. He is incredibly witty, intelligent, funny and loyal. No matter how often I get to talk to him he is always happy and makes me feel important.

I think a guy like Richard is hard to come by and I would definitely like to meet him first out of the MB crew. If you want to talk to someone who knows their **** and has incredible music taste - Urban is your man.

Plus he's got sexilicious blue eyes.

The Mighty Salami - pretty mature for his age, and one of the more entertaining posters we've had for a while

steveeden83 - tend to ramble a bit, but seems to have a pretty good grasp on religion

s_k 12-04-2011 05:32 AM

Urban Hatemonger: Picking on me while he might as well ignore me if he doesn't like me. There's no direct reason for him to attack me.
Should try to stay a bit more neutral as a mod. Behaviour gets close to bullying. Not a nice man these days. Don't know where it came from, never had any problems with the guy so far. Disappointing.

Mighty Salami: Bit over enthousiastic, but seems like the best new member since I got back.

Il Duce: Don't change a thing, you complete idiot! You rock.

TomClancy: His name keeps reminding me of the game series all the friggin'time.
Great new member.

MoonlitSunshine 12-04-2011 11:23 AM

Hahaha, well allright, that's positive in SOME way.
I can say that I never did anything to specifically annoy him, so I don't really understand his behaviour.

And I'd like to ask him to take it easy on me.
It's neither nice nor useful when it comes to forum management.
So, Urban, if you could please just ignore whatever it is you don't like about me.
That'll make this forum a better place for the both of us :).

Salami 12-04-2011 04:28 PM

Haha.. thanks!
This might be boring, I try and like everyone!

Il Duce: You are never lonely around this guy. I argued and insulted him for hours over something as trivial as Eric Clapton making blues easy listening, and yesterday he invited me over to malaysia! I really want to meet him someday.

s_k: I want to thumb up every video he has ever made. He made me feel really welcome on this forum.

Urban: He is amusingly merciless, but the more he laughs at me, the more influenced I am by his power and wit. Joined his fan club the other day. I'll probably end up being his slave eventually. Love the man.

Tom Clancy: We have to disagree on everything! Some nonsense to do with football rivalry and Lancashire-Cheshire hostilities. I love him really.

Pedestrian: The very best mod ever to have existed. Her crosswalking music journal is a fascinating read. She started off being a bit mean to me for no apparent reason, but she turned out to be a really nice person.

Jackhammer: Has the very best avatar on the site.

Janzoon: This forum is no place for eight year old japanese girls....

Sun Lagos Jew Sun Ra: I think Blastingas managed to scare him off. Good riddance.

Boobs: Poor man. There must have been something wrong in his personal life.

Sleepy Jack: WHY IS HE DEAD!!!

Baggs: The worst ever member.

Master Beat: The very worst username ever thought of.

Tore: The wisest member. I think he's a lot more educated than it says in the "meet the mods" section.

The Virgin:

Burning Down: Has very similar music taste to me. I'd like to get to know her better. I also feel sorry for her!

Vanilla: She must be one of the hottest girls alive.

YorkeDaddy: I wish he'd post more often.

Mighty Salami: Really ought to stop posting so much!

I also lol'd at the mighty salami's one on Urban. "the more influenced I am by his power and wit. Joined his fan club the other day. I'll probably end up being his slave eventually. Love the man." still buckled :D

Urban Hatemonger: Percepted as the ultimate baddy. Probably why he's definitely in my top3 favourite members ever haha. Seems meaner than he actually is. Haven't spoken to him in ageeesssss (whats that all about man?) but his witty comebacks and posts here still never cease to crack me up. Guy's an all in legend. Speak soon, you arsehole.

Vanilla: I would love nothing more than to meet Jess. I think she's great, not to mention gorgeous! I imagine when I save up enough money to emigrate to Aus, then I will definitely be going to NZ for a night out. She's almost my Kiwi internet other half haha.

Unchained Ballad: Please be older, and Glasweigian. I would like nothing more ;) *creepy* haha.

AwwSugar: It's just not the same without her :(. Another member I would sell my Granny to meet :).

Mighty Salami: I've never had an opinion of you before, I just thought you were a n00b and would probably leave eventually but I think you actually have a smashing sense of humour and I hope you stay here for good :).

Lucifer_Sam: I used to be **** scared of Sam, probably because he doesn't **** talk which I like :). He comes across to me now as alot like someone I know, I picture him as at Uni, with a perma-red cup in his hand. I'd indefinitely go to a party with Sam because he's probably one of the few Americans that I trust to know how to party ;).

I can't be arsed with anymore. Monday morning blues and that.
